>vr doesn’t care anymore about the snes.
That would be a refreshing change of pace.

>Stunt Race FX still chugs and struggles
Indeed, and there is a very simple reason for that, the bottlenecked SNES DMA, not only is the SNES DMA far slower than the Mega Drive, but, in fact, the total bandwidth is a mere fraction when compared the Mega Drive, PC Engine, or even Master System, due the SNES incapability of transferring ANY graphics during the screen rendering, whereas all 3 aforementioned hardwares have no trouble with that whatsoever, this is a serious and massive bottleneck on the SNES that simply is not to be found on the litany of other, more performant 16-bit hardwares. It is quite funny that, even in the realm of using expensive cheating chips to do 3D rendering, the SNES finds itself maladapted for the task, and struggling to keep up.

>There's nothing stopping you from making your own similar demo running on a stock SNES with no expansion chips then.
Let us be realistic, there is something stopping him from doing that, which is the poorly designed SNES hardware itself, it is simply incapable and not up to the task of doing anything of the sort, and even if it were, doing so would be several times more difficult and simply not worth the effort compared the other, more streamlined 16-bit hardwares.
Which, reminds me, anyone else remember the time someone made a "very impressive" SNES port of an Atari ST demo, running at a "stunning" 25 FPS, using the Super FX?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOqxLBZiBRA
It was then immediately followed up by Titan performing the same demo, at TWICE the FPS, on the STOCK Mega Drive.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEoSXKgPcqU
This was countered by bitter SNES devs attempting the same demo on the stock SNES, but achieving only a fraction of the FPS, in a tiny window, despite their best efforts.

The SNES absolutely blown the fuck out as always. ;D

They lost their soul when they started developing for Nintendo and Sony. Treasure were only ever good on the Mega Drive, objectively speaking.

Why was this not a Sega Saturn game? It was better suited at 2D, plus Sega is cooler than Soitendo.

It's quite funny, in other threads I'm pinned as a Sega fanboy, in yet others I'm a Microsoft fanboy, and then here I'm apparently a Sony fanboy. Perhaps it's not myself whom is the cultist?

Agreed, though if you want my opinion, they should have never been involved in the games industry in the first place.

I always knew the Saturn and PS1 were far superior to the N64, but for quite a while I took for granted that the SNES and Mega Drive were equals. Deep down, I preferred the Mega Drive, but I wouldn't have dared spoken ill of the SNES, and I certainly wouldn't have called it bad. That all changed when I witnessed this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWVmPtr9O0g
From that point on, I really realized that something was truly off about the SNES. The fact that it runs at a mere 1/3rd the speed of all it's competitors really began to stand out, I really started seeing the games for what they are: shallow, lacking depth, with constant slowdowns in many cases. As my exposure to better games on better 16-bit consoles and computers increased, such as the PC Engine, Amiga, X68000, Neo Geo, and arcade platforms, it really began to stand out just how far behind the SNES was in that generation, just how terribly bottlenecked it was when compared to everything else. I saw others unafraid to call the shit SNES was it really was, and became unafraid myself. The SNES is shit, simple as.

To frame it as a "debate" is to give a sense of false equivalency to the SNES, when, by all objective measures, it is nowhere near the same level as the Mega Drive. Despite being 2 years newer than the Mega Drive, it runs at a mere 1/3rd the speed, not just compared to the Mega Drive, but in fact, compared to all of it's competitors. The result of this horrible bottleneck was games plagued with common flaws such as frequent slowdowns, poor AI, poor physics, general slow pace and lack of action, missing levels and areas, and other similar flaws, none of which were apparent to nearly the same degree on better 16-bit consoles and computers. Like all other Nintendo consoles, the shit SNES is best to be ignored, it being really much more comparable to other failure 16-bitters such as the CD-i or Atari ST, it does not even belong in the same discussion as the real heroes of the 16-bit generation: the Mega Drive, PC Engine, Amiga, X68000, Neo Geo, and arcade platforms.

Christ Almighty you nintendrones are deluded. No, the shit SNES is not relevant, it was not relevant, we were all laughing at how utterly inferior it was, and we are still laughing today. It wasn't even in the same league as the Mega Drive, despite the Mega Drive being a whole 2 years older than it, and much cheaper. The amount of mental gymnastics you nintendrones must do to convince yourselves the SNES is at all worth defending must be staggering.
