If you think about it, they're making a lot of neat stuff most games never got.

They made handmade pottery, some of which decorated personally by Tomomi Kobayashi, sake sets, dishes, special prints of the most famous illustrations, sake sets with pixel art prints, hell, there's even a limited edition SaGa whiskey, not just some piss poor stuff like Evangelion doritos or Final Fantasy coke or 7UP, fucking whiskey, even 2ch was all over it back when it was announced.
And let's not forget the trains with SaGa art, it's really something more of a cultural event than just advertising, it helps that most SaGa fans are old by now compared to most other fanbases that have more varied or young demographics, but it's still a pretty interesting fact.
