One of the earliest known screenshots of what would become Ocarina Of Time

They were using the Super Mario 64 engine and it shows here.

the c-button item system was not implemented yet. The c-buttons may have controlled the camera at this time, and you had one item and the sword that you could use at one time. You had to pause to switch items like A Link To The Past.
