And the Gameboy advance is basically a portable SNES?

Atleast it seems like the closest comparisons graphics wise.

All I know is you play as this girl, and you're chased down by this guy wielding hedgeclippers or something.

It was on the PS1, I played it at a friends house. I got bored with it and gave up since I was too young and stupid to figure out what to do.

You know I actually got this game as a kid.

My uncle bought it for my birthday since my mom was a pansy and wouldn't let dad buy anything like it.

Mom tried to convince dad to let her throw it out but convinced her that would be rude since it was his brothers gift to me.

So I played it....let's just say my mom got her way afterwards.

I eventually bought a copy off of ebay years later and finally played the game again. it's still creepy at times.

But yeah I had fucking nightmares from that shit.
Uncle was a bit disappointed but he's happy i'm back into the game.

Yeah that was really a big gripe with the nightmare sections they kept the old level design and didn't adapt it to the new playstyle, you run at normal human being speeds in these giant ass rooms designed at a time when the protagonist could run like 30 miles per hour.

when DooM II included the first level of wolfenstein in it they adapted to the new design by making it more spacious to better fit the gameplay style and since you could run faster than sanic the heugh this wasn't a problem.

tl;dr they should have sized down the rooms just a teensy bit to suit the new movement style.
