/vr/ - Retro Games

I don't know what my favorite is, but this might be my least favorite. Awesome games with crappy let down endings are a travesty.

Yeah exactly. Really I'm talking about my specific tastes. And fighting games being great does rely entirely on having a competent human opponent. And I know my tastes also aren't the norm. Tons of people love platformers, shmups and beat em ups and I think it's great they do. They're just not my cup of tea a lot of the time.

Fantasy Zone and Bangai-O are good examples of shmup-like games that I quite enjoy. In Fantasy Zone, just being able to choose going left or right from the start and tackle the level more organic fashion made it interesting enough that I played the game quite a bit. Even though the last level and especially boss kinda sucked.

People on the internet will complain about literally anything. Even I complained that Fantasy Zone's last level is just a bossrush followed by an easy and underwhemling final battle. BLAH

That's not the point though. Point is. Don't waste your precious life minutes on the useless complaints of strangers online.

Terrible camera? I never had any issues with it. If you can't handle pressing the button a lot, or heck even if you're fine with it should just play the incredible M2 ports on 3DS of them.

Disappointing ending, but the journey is amazing.

Not just the boss, the whole last level of Fantasy Zone is a let down. Just a boss rush and then the final boss is just a big version of you that looks dull and is one of the easiest in the whole game.

One of the best games ever. Disappointing end level and boss, but for most of it it's fucking awesome.

You're playing through a game, each level is cooler and more hectic than the last one. Get to the final level and all hyped for how fun and intense it will be. Then it's a boss rush level and the final enemy sucks.
