Why can't they just include backwards compatibility with older romsets or something?

Alright, I'm trying to remember a retro arcade game from when I was a lil kiddo. It was this horror-themed racing type game, but there was an actual track inside the cabinet, and you got to control a monster or something with a trackball. I used to play it at Chuck E Cheese if that helps any. Any info would be kindly appreciated.

I'm 25 now and I look at my collection with pride, or at least I used to. Now I just look at it with disdain.

How do you cope, /vr/? Adding to the collection? I mean what's the fucking point when you have no one to share it with. All my friends couldn't care less about retro vidya. All of you people are more or less similar to myself: yeah you might have a social life but literally none of it involves retro vidya. If you don't have someone to share it with other than anonymous folk on a slow as fuck message board, then what do you do? Just accept things and find peace? Fuck. I just want to play some local Metal Slug play like the old days. Because of my age I only caught the fumes of those days and it just wasn't enough I tell you. It just wasn't. I don't want Overwatch or League of Legends, I want to play the classics with friends.

>less games than anniversary collection
>10 years later

I wouldn't say Legacy is a bad collection, but it's 10 years later than a better collection, so I don't really see the point in it, other than a cheap manipulative cash grab cashing in on a new wave of retro nostalgia (so typical capcom) it seems like capcom are getting lazier and greedier by the year, sadly.

It should contain 9 and 10 if it wants to be an 8 bit collection.
It should contain the GB games if it wants to be a 'legacy' collection (seriously the sonic collections did the game gear games so no excuse nearly FIFTEEN YEARS AGO)

Maybe in terms of glitch or TAS runs, but I always found 2D live speedruns to be more entertaining to watch.

But then again, there's a larger margin of error for 3d, so it does require more precision. Damn, I'm torn, now...

That shit has never happened to me but I've heard people talk about it.

I've played through MM1 a LOT over the years. As a matter of fact, I play through these games more than once a year and stopped having trouble with this part of Ice Man's stage when I was a child but I swear I would be so mad if that happened to me. Did they fix this in later re-releases or did they just slap a rom onto the package and call it a day?

I should have expanded, "on portables".

Why do you think a good number of us are elitist about using CRTs? If you like massive, sharp, blocky sprites I can't convince you otherwise, but I can only stomach that if it in a portable aspect ratio.

The worst thing when batteries start going out in my experience is that they don't stop completely right away. You lose a save and then it works again so you think it might have been a fluke. Maybe it was that thunderstorm or maybe the contacts were dirty when you were trying to load the game. Its saving now so surely the battery isn't dead.

Then 20 hours into your game the data gets wiped again. Fuck that shit.

To be safe I usually try to replace the battery at the first sign of data loss to avoid a ton of grief further down the road.

I really wish I COULD be optimistic, but I see life as more of a string of shitty, shitty events and have trouble focusing on the good side of things because good is temporary if possible and suffering is inevitable.

>tfw even if you're "lucky" you're still gonna choke out on a hospital bed surrounded by machines and in long drawn out agony at an old age living through your body breaking down and betraying you.

but hey, videogames amirite?
