Mechanically the enemies might function in a better way because they are a little smarter and less basic. The weapons are pretty good all around except the pistol, hyperblaster, and I think the grenade launcher is a bit too slow. All the good weapons are just as good if not better than the Quake 1 guns. You got to keep in mind Q1 didnt have a perfect weapon roster, I think its just familiarity. Overall Q2 is less memorable but the haters are way way too biased. I get liking one over the other but at the time, there was shit that was actually bad like Blood 2.
