Better to go out with a bang than continue making soulless rehashes like a certain other company...

This company is bad. They are mediocre game developers first of all. Mario was "alright" and "decent" at best but wouldnt even be considered one of the best games on the Amiga if it came out on it. This company was only successful because of some smart marketing ideas and Mario itself having a nice design that appeals to kids.

Ironically, when it was successful, Nintendo was strongly outclassed, but the N64 is actually a really decent console and should have deserved much more love back in the day. Too bad Superman 64 ruined it.

>Silver Age/Nintendo Age

Certain individuals see a potential in these mediums despite their faded popularity and push to regain a foothold in the market by infiltrating a more stable market with a "Trojan horse" product: DC got superheroes back on the newstand with their Showcase and value books, while Nintendo got video games on toy shelves with Robot/R.O.B.

This paid off and reignited the appeal of these products with kids in a huge way. A lot of innovation occurred while still keeping a simplicity that appealed to the young market. Many creators from the previous era returned to make a bigger name for themselves. This is where the gigantic franchises we know today got their real mainstream starts.

Modern fans still have trouble enjoying these titles today because of their simpler style, but a dedicated subset of fans still exist for them.

With the early 60's/SNES, more complexity came to the medium as fans of the earlier titles in this era grew old enough to actually create them, pushing more innovation and progress, as well as attracting older, more dedicated audiences.

Normally, I wouldn't do this, but I have to ask.

For three years now, on and off, I have been looking for the origin of this track. It's driving me insane. Can anyone help?

I could repay you with a Steam game or something. Just something of gratitude.
