Honestly, I think it has more to do with Dreamcast being considered a forgotten underdog, had a relatively short active life, and for whatever reason it is popular with hip retrogamers. More kids today probably grew up with/still have a PS2 than a Dreamcast. Personally, I don't consider the Dreamcast to be particularly retro, but honestly I don't care.

RAM Adapter housed Famicom proto phototype to stay on-topic, though not mine.
