There's just something about the way they drew Marian on the cover art that made me go "hnng" and set out to rescue her. I know she was technically "dead" in the game, but I never read the text and kinda assumed she was in some sort of sleeping spell.

It's such a shame that it was, cause it's the only legit port of the DD2 arcade game (the NES and PCE versions were more like adaptations). I wonder how the port would've turned out if it was given to a more competent developer. The Genesis version of DD1 was pretty decent, outside of a few response and balance issues.
