There were stone sculptures scattered throughout the gardens. This one was a black monolith standing in a circular field of low-growing, silvery plants covered in velvety hair (presumably Stachys byzantina). The place had an eerie vibe to it.

I used to disregard the wide-angle lens, but it came in really handy here to fit the whole circular planting into the frame. It's true what >>5749346 said, if you center the lens attachment ring on the apparent center of the opening of the exterior white plastic, it will be out of center of the optical axis. It helps to attach the ring slightly lower, bringing it more in-plane and in-axis. Also, the lenses always have some leeway once attached and need to be properly centered. I've actually thought about grinding down the exterior plastic to create a level surface to attach the lenses to...

Personally I like the tint and wouldn't desaturate them, but you do you. Truth be told, I am mad jelly about the way your shots look, I would have done the same had I had the equipment. And yeah, having easy access to contrast adjustment is a huge plus.

Can we get a shot of your photography setup? How long does it take you to digitize an album of 30 shots this way?
