/vr/ - Retro Games

This game was straight up broken & awful in every aspect.

>pic related is coming out
>it has a ton of ads on tv
>they're all targeted at young and naive kids like me
>none of them show any gameplay footage
>don't realise this until years later
>be young and incredibly naive at that point
>trick myself into believing it would actually be good
>good enough to be one of the best games ever
>beg parents to get it for me when it comes out
>they give in and pay full price for it
>start playing it
>having a hard time convincing myself it doesn't suck
>decide I must not be playing it right
>only solution is to keep playing it
>my older cousin who isn't into games sees me playing it
>tells me it looks really bad
>yeah no it's actually really good
>you need to play it a lot to appreciate it properly
>one other kid at school fell for it too
>talk to him about the game one day
>tells me straight that it really sucks

That was when I began coming to terms with it. Sometimes the truth is right in front of you and you can't see it at all. I feel bad to this day that my parents paid for it.
