The entirety of the Sly trilogy is still some of the only 3D platformers I've played
I really liked them too

This is it for me.
Sly 1 is great but you don't really get too much from it in this department, though it's cool to imagine about Sly's ancestors with the little tidbits they spout about the moves you learn.
But it really kicked off with 2. It kinda sucks to be stuck playing as Bentley, but you get moments like him really realizing he's finally all alone when Sly and Murry are gone, real low moments like maybe it's really over for these guys, Carmelita and Sly hitting it off, it adds even more weight to everything in 3 with its flashback framing device, recurring villains, seeing all those portraits of past Cooper clan members in the vault.
It's weird, because the last platformer to try to make you care about its characters launched several generations of autism and thousands of fetishes and OC's, you'd think Sly would be friendly to such spergery but people barely care beyond Carmelita's ass. No other game has the same sense of style and presentation, it really is a niche within a niche, even other Playstation platformers get more attention I think.
