Mapper Anons, how do you deal with a project that's festering at the halfway point cause you dunno wtf to do/out of ideas/unmotivated to finish it? Options:

Release 3 maps and call it a day
Release the one good map (the other 2 are ok) and call it a day
Wait like 6 months and maybe feel like finishing the whole thing idk

Whenever something turns into a "project" there's like a sweet spot where its really fun and then it just becomes a fucking chore. Releasing half the maps feels like a cop out but I dunno how much I want to finish the episode anymore. Forcing yourself to do it would suck. Having decent maps rotting on your hard drive sucks. Its analysis paralysis.

What would you do?

I have zero faith in the modern games industry. Aside from the occasional good game like (>inb4 contrarians trying too hard to be le /vr/oomers) Metroid Dread and Doom 2016, I've almost entirely checked out of modern vidya and instead tend to my old consoles, getting cartridges/discs of games I give a shit about and using Everdrive/Swiss/Emulating for the rest.
You'd be hard-pressed to come up with more than 15 good games that released after 2007, especially when you exclude indie games.
There's a wealth of good shit in the past, and nothing much to look forward to in the future. I think it says a lot the only game I'm looking forward to this year is a fucking LEGO game of all things, I'm dreading the release of BOTW2, and apart from that I can't think of anything else of note that's releasing. Meanwhile my backlog for retro shit is enormous.

>make a shortcut where I can load up the same save and start recording a new demo file every time I click it, so I can do a playthrough of whatever wads I want intermittently
>realize demos need the save files you loaded when you started recording them, and so overwriting the save file is as good as overwriting the recording; it becomes useless

Is there some way to automatically manage recordings? Save files ought to be built into the demo files by now or something.
I just hate the thought of all these special Doom moments being lost to time...

The Hitscanner meme is retarded. OK, lets say we ditch hitscanning and instead rely entirely on "real" projectiles/missiles. WHAT FUCKING DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE YOU SPERGS? It's not like you could sidestep a bullet. Why waste time on possibly hundreds or thousands of additional projectile/missile calculations when the damn thing just hits you like a hitscanning attack does?

Replayed Guncaster Vindicated on Wyrm difficulty.
Went in the Wolfenstein level in Extermination Day/HoE Starter Pack.
Why the hell is so goddamn hard?
I used Old Dreadful on both Tanks and they didn't explode.The cannons were still intact.
Plus the nazis move so fucking fast and they deal a shit ton of damage. It's a 30 to 0 in a instant,as soon they see you.

I love this mod and I know it supposed to be an harder version of Guncaster but I didn't recall in Brutal Doom they were so freaking tough.
