Thanks bub! I'm doing something with the screenshots so I want them as clean as possible.

S for Shelly, the badass queen of carnage and a valid build engine protag that went from scrapped sidekick to Duke Nukem to star in their own game AND then got to star in one of the best Build FPS games.

No, she's an actual woman and pretty, not a tranny abomination. But that's besides the point.

I'm asking if anyone's knowing of any throwback shooters or classic FPS games that might hit the general notes of games that I've enjoyed.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm keeping track of Selaco and Cultic and that I played the FEAR 1 and expansions.

>It's been lavishly praised around here a few times and the improvements were seldom specified, so people generated their own expectations.

Yeah, I suppose it's understandable to a degree. It's a lot better than the base game imho still, the added enemy types, better levels and better mix ups (like addition of bike / hoverboat levels) make it much more fun.

shiggy diggy

>make the revolver do more damage
It's fine. Revolver is great for sniping, it's better than the DOOM pistol that's for sure and it one shots mosquitos etc.

>RR dynamite
Yeah it kinda sucks but since it's also used for the dynamite crossbow you're probably never ever tossing dynamite after you get the crossbow.
Besides the only real usage for it is to blow up those big alien cunts to prevent them from rising up from the grave (for the most part).

Just finished Blood's Cryptic Passage (and thus the last piece of official "Blood" content for Blood 1). Are there any good user episodes ?

Also goddddd damn, I want Ion Fury : Aftershock. And no, I don't think Shelly is boring etc etc so no need to give that crap here. I do think they could go a bit wilder with her (hehe) and their sci fi theme in general but yea.

Not gonna lie, kinda wish Ion Fury also had an M16 like that but it is how it is. In 'Nam you have an M16 but that game's also kinda meh.

Sad! Guess I'll have to wait for AWOL. Unless Ion Fury : Aftershock has it. Speaking of which, I'm really really looking forward to Ion Fury Aftershock. Though in the meantime I've been playing Ashes 2063 and holy damn it's really good. Almost commercial game quality really.

Like the other guy said, Duke Nukem : Nuclear Winter. It's kinda crappy but alright.

Not *first person* but Max Payne 1 is very wintery.

Can Ion Fury Aftershock get released soon pretty please? I mean sure, take all the time needed to ensure it's good but I sure feel like I'm getting really ready for it. Currently playing through IF on Maximum Fury to get ready for AfterShock. Enjoying hunting for secrets even if I know that I probably won't find a lot of them.

Also been casually playing through DOOM 2, almost done with Blood. Though I still have Cryptic passage to go through.

Looking forward what the throwback shooter genre can muster. Also looking forward to SiN Remaster, never played that game so hopefully the remaster won't suck.

Ion Fury : Aftershock
SiN Remaster
Cultic

I'm hoping that at some point we'll get Soldier of Fortune-likes or games that take that general style but are not afraid to also mix in mutants / sci-fi / zombies / monsters while also having a realistic-ish tactical-ish combat with powerful weapons .

>HAIL TO THE QUEEN BABY
Do you think it's fair to say that Shelly has replaced the Duke as being the high mark for retro-style Build Engine FPS'es? I know that might sting for some, but without a new quality Duke game to measure it against, I think Ion Fury has taken the high ground now. Aside from some jankiness (which may be all the Build Engine's fault) it just seems to do everything right that we love about retro-style FPS'es.
>A pixelated art style that's not so low-res that it's distracting, but high-res enough that it can create a powerful sense of atmosphere and a realistic "lived-in" feeling to the world.
>Tons of interactivity, from all of the voxel objects including all of the food lying around to lots of breakable walls.
>10/10 level design with huge, complex, non-linear levels.
>Ball-busting difficulty that is fair and honest and not bullshit.
>Tons of secrets everywhere, some of which are very well hidden and pop-culture references everywhere.
After spending almost 200 hours in the game and just having beaten the most difficult level last night, I feel like calling it, Ion Fury has replaced the Duke for the high mark of Build Engine FPS'es.
