Are you getting audio now? What do you have it plugged into?

My Mitsubishi only had 2 RCA jacks as I remember, one for video and one for audio, so I had to buy one of these unions to mash both tracks down into mono. If that's how yours works, then you'll only be able to get mono out of the headphone jack as well, because the TV isn't going to internally separate the channels, which is why I usually advocate finding a cheapo receiver at a flea market or something and bypassing the whole thing.
