/vr/ - Retro Games

Hey guys, I've been reading up on playing NA region games on a Japanese Super Famicom, and I know the hacking apart the console is a bad idea. So, what is the /vr/ approved adapter/converter to buy?

Preferably not too expensive.

Sorry, I just found it too funny that the guy claiming to be from the most intellectual forum on the internet was making some of the silliest broad stroke definitions I've ever seen and swearing up and down like a 13 year old. There's just something delightful about shutting down someone who's both stupid and angry.

Even though I did and still do suspect he's just a fisherman imitating him for laughs I couldn't resist. I have leaves to rake though so I'll leave it here.

That's a shitty attitude to have, and not what I'm talking about. We all have to learn to be a little more accepting of the people who come here that we disagree with. Simply not shitposting a thread because you don't care for the topic is a great way to start.

But also there is a degree of trolling that is bound to find it's way into any 4chan thread. 4chan is basically made to encourage trolling and anonymity which is probably why most of us are here.

So the flipside to not going out and trolling other peoples topics is that when you make yours and the first response is "fuck off hipster" or whatever, just ignore or report. But most of all don't feel them and continue the cycle. Trolls lurk where there's delicious food. Don't be troll food.

Since there seem to be a number of differing opinions, some think retro should only encompass 8 bit games and earlier, others think the GBA and even GameCube and PS2 era games are now 'retro'. The definition of the word itself is fairly fuzzy,

So I thought I'd start this thread about what it means to you when it comes to video games. When do you consider the cut off of what a retro game is? Not intended as a discussion of the board rules definition, I'm asking about your personal feelings on the matter.

I loved the heck out of Harvest Moon GBC and Animal Crossing (though only Gamecube on). There was also this old game I remember I think called China Sea Trader where you basically sailed back and forth trading goods to make money. It was kind of simy as I remember.

Lately I just got into Legend of the River King and am totally engrossed with it. What a great game it is.
