How did the C64 manage to become the best selling computer ever? The disk drive was slower than on the Apple II which came out 5 years prior, and it was also really expensive because it had to contain it's own processor and RAM since the computer itself couldn't handle it, so a bunch of people kept sitting around with shitty tape readers instead.
