At $200USD it is more than a fair price, it's an outright bargain for the Analogue console. As that is the minimum to get someone to just recap the original consoles, which does not account for purchasing the capacitors. The only negatives being the Analogue Duo's ugly looks, the controller port on the side towards the rear (great for the short length controller cords), and the controller port being the less popular TurboGrafx-16 port instead of the PC-Engine connector.

Without the equipment, space, technical ability/knowledge, I would have to pay for such expertise. As mentioned, anyone who has done the capacitor replacement tend to refuse to do it, probably because it is annoyingly small and time consuming, therefore they won't accept the job unless it is multiple hundreds in USD. In my backwoods part of the USA, that type of education level and service is a rarity.

I am unaware of 4 of the 5 you mentioned. The 3rd I have heard of but tends to be busy with other promised projects for other clients. I have looked, for the last 10 years, not specifically in my time zone but just saying no one in flyover states has good immediate access to a repair technician. Most repair shoppes around here just replace cracked cel phone screens and install PC parts (as in you buy the components, they find the matching ports and they plug the damn things there). Even when I already had the console in my youth, it is over 2x cheaper and more convenient to just get the Analogue FPGA system.

I have a few controllers. The US TurboDuo pad as you can see here has a light texturing on the cross section of the d-pad. Same with the SuperGrafx/CoreGrafx 1 pad. The Avenue pad 3 and the Avenue Pad 6 has the same slight texturing but with 3 bump friction lines. The 6 button pads from the Duo-RX and PC-FX have a different cross shape, but it too has a slight texturing. I do not have a CoreGrafx 2 pad, US Turbografx-16 pad, nor original PC-Engine pad (nor its turbo enabled variant you have pictured), so I cannot comment on how those are. The texturing is quite light so maybe with heavy use and calloused thumbs it could easily smooth out.

I do use the 5-player tap to extend the wire a bit.

I do as well. I think it is very classy looking. NEC had a knack for designs in their consumer electronics. Their PC cases are gorgeous to me.

I gotta find those PS to PCE adapters too. PS pads are aplenty, while I no longer can afford real PCE controllers.

I like the Hori Fighting Commander PC(E), it only has a 2B and 6B mode but no 3B mode.

No you don't. I have a small ... amount of TurboDuo/PC-Engine controllers and cannot satisfy a full group of 5 Bomberman 93/94 players.
