Assuming you're not trolling, I'm going to say that while I respect your opinion, I think you're the one that's missing the point here.

Going into a Squaresoft title that labels itself an RPG and complaining about turn-based battles and RPG elements is like setting yourself up for a fall. I don't play Mega Man 1 and complain about the lack of RPG elements because the game clearly labels itself a platformer and not an RPG.

If you're disappointed because you expected it to be more like Super Mario 64, now is the point to realize that the game was co-developed by Squaresoft and contains lots of features that their games were known for. If that doesn't please you, it's time to stop playing SMRPG and start playing SM64.
