>Sony makes a perfect D-pad for the Vita
>never uses it again, in either their DS4 revisions or the Dualsense
The fucking people in charge of that company I swear to god.

I've been all over the internet looking for a controller that uses the same buttons, but there's just nothing in production. Xbone yes, but it uses a different type of switch thats less pleasant on top of its poorer ergonomics.
And the really frustrating thing is the DualSense and the Switch Pro controllers, the latter with its notoriously shitty D-pad, have the correct type of microswitch on the god damn PCB except they only use them for the start/select/share etc. If they spent the extra .1cent per unit on tactile switches for at least the D-pad instead of carbon contact membrane rubbers we wouldn't be having this conversation. And yeah they're more fragile, but so are the Alps potentiometer analogue sticks everyone uses nowadays and the failure/drift rate of those has never been a concern.

So, having driven around all night looking for an all-you-can-eat seafood restaraunt and not found one, I've ordered a bunch of snap-dome switches and I now apparently have to go fishing, and learn CAD; to make a gerber file or some shit to fab a custom flex cable to insert into my D.Sense/Switch Pro controllers, +/- stl files to 3D print a new D-pad lever arm.
Thanks Nintendo/Sony you cheap fucks.
