Textures and interface elements were designed to look good at a specific resolution at a time when 480i was considered hi-res.

>Headdy better than MM
Eh, maybe, it's a tough one. Both are definitely the best Treasure platformers (not that they did a lot), but both are also very different. I'll give the edge to MM simply because it has more replay value, but they're about on par.
>sequel is better
Technically it's probably true, but there's something about the original S&P that I still like more than the sequel, some people pointed out the pacing on the first one is better, and that the sequel drags a bit too long, which may be true, but I dunno, I just like the original more, albeit Star Successor is great.

Sin and Punishment for sure.
It's my favorite along with Zwei and SF64. It doesn't have alternate paths like these two, but it's twice as crazy.

Sin and Punishment probably takes the crown for me.

Runner ups are Panzer Dragoon II and StarFox 64.

i'm not sure how the actual emulation is, but I heard Sin and Punishment was recently released there, and that game is a 10/10 especially if you like rail shooters like Star Fox and action games like Gunstar Heroes. Definitely one of the must-play on N64 and since emulation for it can be pretty shitty on PC, maybe Wii U VC might be the best option outside of real hardware.
The Wii sequel, Star Successor, is also on WiiU VC and worth playing as well.

Let's talk about this gem.

I'm trying to beat this on hard mode, since I'm really dying to unlock the turbo modes, but I can't really get good enough yet, so I'm practising on the level select screen. (which only gives you 1 try per stage).
I'm currently trying to learn stage 2-2, you know the one, shooting down planes, helicopters and other flying shit while riding a floating metal platform through the sea. Probably the coolest and most iconic level on the game, and also painfully hard, but fun.

I can make it up until the Near Zero Minor ship, sometimes I can get through it without getting touch, but some other times, one of its blue lasers will constantly chase me and hit me several times no matter what move I do, like it's automatically attracted to my character location. Maybe it's just me losing the proper timing, not sure.
However, the real hard part that I still can't learn properly is after beating that guy, the part where you have to evade bombs floating on the water, while the platform goes vertical. I get that you can jump over the bombs that are placed lower, but still can't figure it all out between all the explosions and guys around. Then comes the Raptor Seemer who totally wrecks my shit (still can't time the jumps properly for its pink balls), and also I NEVER could beat her, I always fail and she leaves.

I beat this game on normal, and got to 2-3 or maybe 3-1 on hard, furthest I got. But I loose too many lives on 2-2 so I need to practise more.

Any tips?

Also, discuss the game in general, we always mention this game, but I don't remember too many discussion of it.
