This game I discovered through emulation. It was so good I had to get the real thing. I think that's why I like the large libraries of SNES, PC-Engine, Saturn, etc. as you are bound to trip over something unexpectedly really good.

As one with the bootleg setup seen in >>3729778 and I initially considered it a mistake purchase >>3704128 but I have grown to enjoy it with the bootleg games. However, please be aware that the Super Retro Trio only outputs regular composite and S-video (NES is composite only, or composite sent through S-video, and the Genesis/Mega Drive S-video does have "jailbars," alternating darker/lighter vertical lines, so it may not connect up directly to a modern display well. I know the difficulties of being poor, so emulation is still what I would highly recommend for cost effectiveness and enjoyment.

My Super Retro Trio setup is a sort of experiment: imagining what it would be like if I were less fortunate and had my Christmas ruined by being gifted a shit console from a non-caring family, could I still enjoy gaming? That is why I call my Super Retro Trio setup (old no-name CRT and bootleg games) my dungeon. The system cost me $60USD, nothing for the TV, and I spent less than $20USD on the aliexpress bootlegs, I had found I can still have fun, but I would not recommend others be as wasteful as I am. The 2nd video posted >>3729914 covers the clone console well, but know that the system has no value, no one in their right mind would pay for it, so there is no cost recuperation so one will have to be at peace with the burning of money. Yes, poverty has caused my brain damage. That all said, I feel emulation clears the hurdles of video output, regional differences, and cost so it's most recommended for your situation (gaming prices ridiculously out of control).

That's great news! Gives me the go-ahead to save for junfangames.

Magical Pop'n was a game I discovered through emulation, and it was so good, I had to get the real thing. The $76 shipped (most I ever paid for cart only) was the cost back then, and there were no repros/bootlegs of it at that time. I am still glad to have it. Can't get emotional about bootlegs tho.

Agreed. It was one of the games I randomly tried on emulation, it was so good, I had to get the game. Shipping form Japan was really expensive, but I loved the game so much it was worth $50USD after shipping to me even for cart only. It was expensive, but I still play it to this day, so I do not regret buying it.

Sorry, this is an old pic for the older Princess Maker 2 thread.

Surprised this thread still exists! Wonderful to be back, and glad to see the new release on Steam.

Corrections needed to be made:

It appears to be called "Long Life the Queen" on Steam (found it in my Steam search for PM2R). "God Save the Queen" I think was a cool sword in Final Fantasy Tactics.

I was mistaken, it was nips only, but fortunately I am a fan of bare floors and there was "carpet to match the drapes" as I implied. Yet true there were no details "down there" as the deleted post >>3517767 showed.

As for the pic, sadly I bought the game used long ago cart only, so I cannot fully enjoy the Takami Akai boxart/instructions. The game is really fun.
