Go for a Duo-R, they run for about the same price. I believe there's something special about their hardware, but I'm not the guy who knows the specifics about that stuff. All I know is that they look cooler.

So /vr/ I just bought a PC Engine Duo R on ebay. I'm planning on getting a turbo ever drive so I can play english games on it as well but I was wondering something about the CD drive. Can you play burned games on it, and if so is it bad for the laser?

Also what are your guys favorite/suggested PC engine games?

I love the OG Famicom's design. As you said, the coloring is just perfect. Assuming, that is, you can find one that hasn't started to turn yellow (like mine).

Highly doubt it, with the more recent consoles looking more and more like VCRs (or just boxes).

I really miss when consoles looked like starships.
