Keep in mind this is assuming you're buying these things at their proper Aliexpress prices and not some bait-and-switch store that tries to charge you more by adding shipping costs, or worse buying them at a local convention or pawn shop for $15-20.
Three out of the four famiclones on the left (the brown, cheap red, and light blue) are by the same company, they're all basically the exact same thing just with a vaguely varying shapes to them. Never buy that shit ever unless you see a super deal for one at $1.49, that's less than a gumball.
The MyArcade black on, third from the left, is one of the ones from Amazon they charge three times more for than they're worth. You can sometimes find MyArcade handhelds on Aliexpress but they're always more expensive than their Amazon listings. Not worth it, even to see 16-bit romhacks of NES games using the wrong characters (my favourite being Goemon on a surfboard), I only got it because I found it used for $5 and even $5 is too much for it.
The original famiclone comes in tons of colours and has a couple of variants by the same company, like the shitty black Soulja Sup Boy pictured beneath it. This new purple one looks really sexy. They're the ones most commonly seen at conventions and pawn shops, bought in bulk then sold to ignorant parents for $15-20.
The Q# series is a step up from everything before it, with a higher quality plastic, form, and they come in tons of neat tropical colours.
The chicken and the credit card ones cost more than the rest but are also higher quality and have novelties to them, such as the credit card one's incredibly slim size or how the chicken (and tiger variant) hack some roms to make the main character a chicken with shades/tiger. I think $15 for these is fair, but due to their size they will not be something you play for a long session. Love those fucking flat, clicky face buttons and d-pad.

And then Retro Max. Made from Anbernic quality plastic but feels stiff. Feels JUST like a GBP

The basic bitch gameboy famiclone, as you can get them for $5, they're durable enough for a child, and are decent enough. But I can't think of a single child from gen alpha who would have any interest in playing 8-bit games, at all. It's literally all Roblox and Fortnite now. Modern children are going to want a touch screen and they're going to want a 3D game that can be played with a touch screen.

They just released a sexy Waluigi purple for the basic famiclone alongside more of the classic black, blue, and red ones.
