Not good but I have fun. recently I have picked up Vampire Savior and am trying to learn it, playing Q-bee right now but finding a main always feels hard for me. I have never played a fighting game with air dashes before so it's still kind of weird to me.

I'm assuming you're a fan of Samurai Shodown? I love the series for the reasons you mentioned, I wish the series was more popular though.
