Wasn't actually expecting to get a lesson on how mahjong works. Thanks for the info. Seems to be a little bit more then I'm willing to learn. lol

This is one of the many Mahjong games that apparently litter the NES and SNES. I've never really cared for the "Virtual Board Game" genre, but apparently a lot of people do. I've never really seen the point. If you wanted to play Mahjong or any other similar game, wouldn't it be cheaper and possibly more fun to play the actual physical version of it?

Anyways, I have absolutely no idea how to play this game. It definitely doesn't help that it's in Japanese, but I kinda just assumed that it has something to do with getting matched and/or like tiles. That may not be the case, but I didn't seem to be losing. I didn't complete an entire game of this, I didn't find it necessary or interesting enough.

This time it will. I'm done with restarting and all that shit. I know the format I want to use now, so it should be smooth sailing...until I hit a SHMUP that is. Then you can all tell me how embarrassing those videos are to watch.

This game really likes to fuck with you. It's basically nothing more then a 3D version of tetris done from a top-down perspective. The NES wasn't really known for it's 3D, so depth perception is definitely a problem here. The A and B buttons rotate your pieces in different directions, so keeping them straight is kinda hard. The first level is pretty simple. The second level sped things up suddenly and threw me off, but I managed to get through it. The third level gave me a fucked up looking shape and ultimately screwed me over.

It's not necessarily a bad game, but if I wanted to play something like this, then I'd probably stick with Tetris.

This game is a bitch. I've had experience with it before and knew that it was a rather frustrating title. However, since it was the first game in the NES library, I figured I'd try and beat it. I managed to get all the way to the last world and then got a game over. Using a little trick, you can start over from the beginning of the world you died on. I fucked up and didn't do that, thus sending me back to the beginning of the game.

At that point, I nearly punched myself in the face. Not sure I care enough for this game to try and get all the way through it again. So for now, you can consider this game dropped.

I'm back and I'm ready to play. No more indecision or deletions, what you see is what you get. For those of you that don't know, I've started a channel with the goal of trying out as many games as I possibly can. I'm starting with the NES, but I plan to cover a bunch of other consoles later on down the line. Videos will differ in length, but most should be at least 10 minutes, unless the title really doesn't warrant that much time. I'm going to try for at least 2 videos a day, but my updating schedule will highly depend on my RL stuff. I'll be starting tonight, so thanks for watching and hopefully you'll find some games that interest you.

Originally, I was just going to showcase the first few minutes of each game. Now, I'm going to actually sit and play each game until I've either beaten it, gotten bored of it or frustrated with it. Most of the videos are going to be a decent length and all videos will be labeled to tell viewers its status. Dropped videos are games that I've stopped playing. Incomplete videos are ones that I'll likely go back to and completed videos are games I've beaten.

That's precisely what happened in my playthrough. And I'm not sure about the 1-up thing. When you exit a bonus level it starts you after the balloon, so I'm not sure if that's possible.

>>1341729
Mostly because I've been very indecisive with what I actually wanted to do with it. I'm pretty sure I know now, so I'm done with deleting stuff. I started again with WorldRunner, but I'm going to jump ahead to where I left off at #19 and sporadically upload numbers 2-18 inbetween the new stuff.

GOD DAMMIT. I started this game over hoping that'd I'd be able to beat it in one sitting. Probably could have if I hadn't fucked up on the "Continue" sequence when I got to the last world. Messed that up, so it sent me back to the beginning. Maybe I'll make a short video later where I finish, if I feel like getting through it all again.

Hey guys, I just started checking out this game and it seems pretty neat. Any of you have experience with this title and know if it's worth playing?

Hey guys, last thread I'll probably make for awhile. At least until a decent amount of content gets put up.

This channel is now the official spot for the VGEncyclopedia. If you didn't already know by now, I plan to try and archive gameplay footage of as many games as possible. I'm looking for anybody who might be interested in helping contribute to it. It doesn't matter what console or system it's on, if it's not already on there then it's fair game. There are a few small rules for entries, so here they are for those interested.

No longer then 15 minutes.
No commentary.
Perfect gameplay is NOT expected.
If title has multiple gameplay styles, try to showcase a little of each.

I'm going to be porting some of my videos over, but any help will be happily accepted.

It's not really necessary, it just makes it easier to identify you as a contributor. I can link directly to your channel from mine and any interested parties can then check out your channel.

If you're not interested in doing that, then you can upload videos to a file sharing site. Then you can just link my the download and leave a name to be identified by and I'll do the rest.

>> No.1327445 [View]

Hey guys, I've decided to create a channel specifically for the cataloging of video game footage. I was using my own personal channel for this, but it doesn't feel right. I'm still going to upload stuff to MY channel, but it'll probably be my own personal LPs of games that I'm actually interested in doing.

My new channel is this...

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheVGEncyclopedia

Feel free to subscribe to that one. You don't have to stick with my personal channel. Although I'm probably going to start up on my first LP soon. It's going to be Kirby's Adventure for the NES. It's one of my favs and I've been itching to play it again.

Also, if you have a channel and you think you might want to help contribute to the Encyclopediam please post a link to it and I'll add you into my affiliated channels.

I'm also looking for somebody to make me a dedicated Banner and maybe an avatar.

I haven't stopped. I've just been really busy with RL stuff and we just went through a nasty blizzard that's been hampering my ability to access the internet.

>>1323819
There is no real dedication or frequency needed. I'll take contributions whenever they are given. The best ways to handle videos are to either upload them onto a file sharing site and then giving me the link or uploading them onto your own YouTube channel and sending me the link to share on my playlists. Not every video NEEDS to be on mine.

>>1323823
Indeed. I'm not afraid to say that I'm a noob when it comes to retro gaming. I didn't get the chance to play much when I was a kid and my first console was the PlayStation. So...I've never played a large majority of these games, so that is very much me. Granted, I'm not looking to give an LP of each game. AT least, not as it's focus. Most of my videos are meant to act as demo reels. And I agree about the info in the description. There are plenty of sites out there with that kind of stuff, so I'll probably just link to them for those interested.

Remaking the thread since my last one 404'd. This is my current channel, might make a new one if this pans out.

I'm making a YouTube Channel with the ultimate goal of compiling gameplay footage of as many games as possible. This is ranging from the entire spectrum of gaming, from old school to new school. Originally, I was planning on compiling all this content on my own, but realized that was kind of silly and would take me literally FOREVER.

While I still plan to upload quite a bit of my own stuff, I'd like to know if there is anybody here that would like to help contribute? You can help me in a myriad of ways. The most useful would be actual videos of any games not already on the channel. These would just be samples of the game, enough to showcase what the game has to offer and interest any viewers who might like it. There should be no commentary in these. I will also accept speed-runs and playthroughs, but they will have there own section apart from the main lists.

I also plan to turn the descriptions of each video into a small encyclopedia for each game. It will have all kinds of info such as; alternate titles, back stories, random trivia, links to guides, hacks, etc. This is another area where I'll gladly accept help.

Of course, all credit will go to the ones who submitted them. Would anybody even be interested in this? I know there are "encyclopedia" sites out there, but I'm pretty sure none of them are based around actual gameplay footage of the games.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Suppose I'll continue putting stuff in here.

This game seems all right. The d-pad seems a little on the sensitive side though. My dragon would occasionally switch flying levels when I didn't want to.
