I used to love that game as a kid. Didn't care for the card games, I just loved picking players and the watching them talk to one another.

Troll, I am not. And this is my third attempt at this, my last being roughly 4-5 months ago. Had a death in my family and had to stop. I have everything back in order, so I'm starting again. No more deletions, the videos are staying where they are. I've spend over 8 hours on recording stuff, don't feel like wasting all that time.

3D Block

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHcwSD83p9I

This game is essentially a pirated copy of Blockout for the NES. Which is essentially a really bad 3D knockoff of Tetris. I'm surprised I did as well as I did considering how bad the depth perception is and the fact that I couldn't tell exactly where my placings would be. Apparently, you're reward for beating the game is seeing the pic of this girl on the main title screen. I'd rather just look at porn.

The 3D Battles of World Runner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4DtnJaQfyw

This game irritates the piss out of me. I've tried to beat it MANY times and I essentially get stuck in the same place every time. They throw some shit at you in here that requires really fast reflexes to pull of and aren't shy at giving you cheap deaths. If anybody can mange to get past world 5 WITHOUT dying once...I'll owe you a cookie.

I've been looking for new games to play lately. I'm really not that interested in a LOT of the stuff coming out these days, so I figured I'd sit down and sift through the libraries of older consoles. I've decided to start with the NES, as it was my very first system and I haven't had the chance to play many games for it.

I thought it'd be fun to start a thread where we can discuss the games that I'll eventually sift through. I've downloaded a goodset and I'll be trying them out in alphabetical order, starting with...The 3D Battles of World Runner. I'll post after I've played enough of each game to have an opinion on it

Just got my new computer, so that just opened up more possibilities with games. I can actually record PSX games now. YAY!

Our first handheld exclusive!

I don't know much about Action Man. From what I can gather, it was apparently the English version of G.I. Joe. Figurines, movies, TV shows, games, you name it.

I only tried out two of the four levels, but it didn't seem that bad. The jumping mechanics are quite...floaty and the levels kind of feel the same, but with separate backdrops. I was impressed with the soundtrack though. Definitely better then what I've heard so far in this playlist.

Not really much to say about this one. It's a port of the massively popular arcade SHMUP, 1942. You're a plane that shoots down other planes. That's about it.

Well, there are two control set-ups in this game. I used the first one and it's fucking terrible.

I don't think there is a version of this game that I'd enjoy. It's a game about skateboarding. Your main arsenal of moves include spinning in circles, usually unsuccessfully. You participate in 4 separate events attempting to win gold and make some cash. You use this cash on better equipment. In order to participate in said events, you need tickets, which you acquire by getting a set score level. The only way to get these score levels is to land your spin tricks, which is kinda hard to do. If you don't manage to acquire a ticket after a certain time, you get chased down by killer bees.

This is ANOTHER port and not a very good one at that. I'd say pass.

This game is actually a lot more fun then I expected it to be. The game isn't exactly the most challenging thing in the world, but it's got a charm to it. Basically, the goal of the game and each level is to locate the key and unlock all your fellow puppies from their cages.

This, like many other GB games, is a port. There is also a version on the computer, PlayStation and Dreamcast. Obviously, this is the most watered-down version as it's in 2D while the others are 3D. However, I still think it's worth a look, if nothing more then to pass the time.

As many as I can. The main reason I'm doing this is actually to find games that I'd be interested in playing myself. My first actual system that I really got familiar with and owned was the PlayStation, so I missed out on a lot of great games. I'm recording each game I try, so others can do the same thing. I hope to help other gamers find titles they've never heard about before or have forgotten about.

I agree. I find it incredibly lazy for developers to not add music to their games.

There is literally nothing special about this game. It's a game about bowling and that's exactly what you do. Physics kinda suck and there is no music to listen to. I'm sure there are better games of the genre for the system.

This game is "presumably" based off the movie of the same name. And let's just say...it leaves a lot to be desired. The graphics are shoddy, the music is forgettable and the gameplay? In a word, abysmal. The shooting mechanics in this game are slow and unresponsive. It takes 4 shots to kill enemies and the bullets are so hard to see that avoiding them is nearly impossible. In fact, there were a couple of times I walked INTO a bullet.

This is just another port of a game that's been ported to many others. If you want to play it, I'd recommend a console version.

Not much to say about this one. It's a pinball game with a carnival themed board. It's a watered down port of the PC version, so I'd stick with that one if you really want to play it.

And I agree about the graphics. Wouldn't have thought it was possible.

This is more-or-less a typical pool game. The only thing that sets it apart are the weird ass cast of players you can choose from. It's also in 3D which I found quite impressive considering it's a GBC game.

I'd suggest turning the music off if you decide to play this. It's fucking atrocious.

I'm not 100% sure what this is supposed to be. You play as a chibi cat and apparently am trying to solve a mystery? Not being able to read Japanese kinda hinders my ability to comprehend the plot. Roaming around for awhile, avoiding being run over by cars, I managed to speak to an angry bulldog blocking a path and was able to play two mini-games akin to Slots/Bingo and Memory.

That's probably what this game boils down to. A cute little story sprinkled with mini-games. Not worth playing if you can't read moon.

Hey guys, I'm back after a slew of health/family issues. I've decided to not start off with the NES, as I seem to have a problem with keeping those videos up and a LOT of people tend to cover that system. I'm going to try to do more of the less covered stuff to begin with and then eventually move into the main "core" systems. I figured that I'd start with the handhelds, more specifically the Game Boy Original and Game Boy Color.

The first game is called 2nd Space. I couldn't find a box-art shot of it. It's apparently a part of a compilation cartridge, but for some reason the game was packaged into a rom by itself.

I played this game WAY longer then I probably needed to. You play as a chibi car that needs to cover the board in order to reveal a picture of the same building over and over again. While doing this, you need to avoid 1-2 random enemies that roam around and sporadically shoot projectiles at you.

It's an alright game, but is nothing more that a time-waster and isn't really worth picking up and playing.

Thousand Arms for the PSX.

This is one of my favorite RPGs on the system. The battle system is rather bland, but everything else about it is pretty interesting. It's humorous and has a quirky aesthetic where you have to take women (both party members and not) on dates in order to power up your weapons.
