I got the parts in today to mod my AES joystick. If anyone has an AES I highly recommend this mod. The sanwa buttons feel 100 times better than the original crappy ones. and the red ball top is rather neat as well.

I have seen people hack a one slot into a megadrive, and a neo geo cdz. but an aes is too thin.

If you are going the budget route, pick an MVS model with onboard controller ports, for the video converter you can make your own or use a JROK.

mine is a 32 megabit model, which will play 99 percent of the library. games larger than 8 megabits will span across disks, i.e. donkey kong country is on 4 disks. If you wanted to dump a cart you can copy the files on disk and merge them with ucon64.

great idea if you have $650 to throw away and 10 to 12 weeks to wait. or you could sac up and make your own consolized mvs. It's super easy.

I like this multicart because it has every metal slug, neo turf masters and the last blade 2. I could give a fuck about the others really.

the only reason to get an AES is if you have shitloads of cash to throw away. the games can be worth thousands each. It would be much cheaper to get a 1 slot MVS and a supergun. or you can try to 'consolize' it yourself.

I have one, castlevania 3 and the everdrive N8 works on it. honestly I rather like it, I have zero complaints about the buttons or the screen. the battery life is about 4 to 6 hours though. It lets me play tetris while I take a shit.

>> No.1032176 [View]

>>1031775
MMC5 games like castlevania US will likely never work on the N8. even the powerpak has extremely limited support for the MMC5.

I really like the turbo, but the chip games are too quirky and obscure to compete with the megadrive.

there is a turbo mod chip for sale, very cheap. you will have to install it yourself or get someone to do it for you however. I installed mine and it works great! you just flip a switch to choose the region.

I sometimes wish I didn't have an AES, so goddamn expensive to collect for. I've bought games that cost more than my first car. even the MVS converters are expensive. But i'm not ashamed to admit I own one of these bad boys. (bootleg multi-cart)
