This thread doesn't make any sense with half the posts pruned

The most effective pro-piracy lesson ever was all those teachers sharing their educational Apple IIe games, especially Microzine.

I think people have come to just inherently grasp there should be freedom of information. They'll pay for hardware, they'll pay for service and they don't mind being advertised to buy they don't want to pay for software

Chiller is much more horrifying than Altered Beast and your mall must have been classier than mine because I definitely witnessed weed deals and fingerbanging in the darker corners of my Gold Mine.

It was a bad thread from the beginning that was answered extensively and immediately then quickly devolved into >>>/jp/ and >>>/bant/ shit. This is supposed to be /vr/ where we discuss retro games.

I'm just trying to stir up some discussion about version differences, particularly about a topic that's recently irritated me which is that a lot of retro and nearly retro console games that saw truly nice looking (but pre-xinput) PC ports suffer from either being forced to awkwardly use kbm control or trying to remember "Okay, I know I mapped Q E and R to B A and X on my controller but did I map CTRL to L1? Is it prompting me to press Z because it wants me to combine items? Did I map that to R3?" I have to decide if it's simpler to keep a controller cheat sheet for reference or try to play with KBM or hook up the proper real console and possibly burn a copy of the game and get it all running at probably a lower resolution.

I don't know if either of both the PC versions of RE2 suffer from this but it just seemed like it might be something worth discussing.

Yeah, you gave him the information he didn't even know that he wanted to know. He could have at least said thank you.

Personally I just played (and especially watched my friends sit on my couch and play) the shit out of the original release of RE2 and I even picked up a second nice condition copy recently for $2 at Goodwill but if I were going to pick it up and do a run today I'd probably burn a copy of the Dreamcast version and play it with the VGA adapter if for no other reason than that early 2000s PC ports of console games usually piss me off with their onscreen button prompts Obscure was basically unplayable with a 360 controller. How's Sourcenext in that department? I assume OP is going to be emulating whatever he decides to play so he might be better off with a PC version than the Dreamcast one.

Somewhat less rough than they're sometimes portrayed but much rougher than you would probably think. There was low-key drug and sexual activity. Basically, the kind of places that were considered appropriate for me when I was 6 years old in 1983 would be considered inappropriate for 19 year old college students in 2020.

I got mine for fifty cents iirc at a yard sale not all THAT long ago but it's pretty playable. I've had more than one person ask to go head to head at it and enjoy it. It's not like pong at all, you can move around the whole field.

If the port worked for the laptop it should work for the dreamcast. Are you using the same vga cable?

It won't crash, it'll be like the comic book market. The truly rare and desirable games will continue to appreciate. The moderate interest games will plateau and the trash will go back in the bin.

This one doesn't get talked about very much. It's not exactly a "stealth" game more of a tactical combat game. You get an advantageous position on your enemy then surprise attack them kind of like Full Spectrum Warrior but more fun. I also really like that game though. It'll teach you how to kill people dead, long as you have a squad.

This is a good suggestion on confirming its a problem with the TV.

Looks like your red pin isn't connecting. Put a single drop of alcohol in the hole and plug/unplug a few times

Library and battery life to name a couple. Lynx does have a certain late Atari console flavor though, more so than Jaguar which had a lot of the Atari computer flavor.

There's an old man with a dog in Master of Darkness too IIRC. He's a ghost you can't touch but if you kill his dog he screams and melts away

Oh and depending on exactly when he bought it, it's possible that it was a piperazene rather than actual LSD since there were shit tons of that stuff circulating ~10 years ago when the designer dug scene was straight up crazy.

Psilocybin really is a better beginner and casual experience. Milder, shorter and with fewer physical side effects

I express honest, informed and well experienced opinions. I even used to do it sincerely up until November of last year but now I mix in a healthy dose of post-truth to ruffle some zoomer baby down.

Oh and yes I openly troll yuropoors. I suppose I should own that as a footnote.

>> No.5809297 [View]

Your average /vr/ poster has little to no actual appreciation of the board topic as a whole and is only here to post their inflammatory, predominantly negative and above all incredibly narrow, limited opinions.

This is a good one since there's two ways to get offended by it. You can either take it to mean "have sex" as in the meme OR you can take it as it was probably meant, as "fair race" that the main character and the primary supporting characters are all born commanders of armies, which is of course unacceptable by our current western concept of social fairness.
