SNES is the only 4th gen console you CAN'T get on Laserdisc.

Probably KOTOR, Morrowind, San Andreas or something equally not-exclusive, maybe Halo. Metal Wolf Chaos is amazing though.

This day-sue. 100ms delay is noticeable. A "good" emulation setup should be under 60ms and real hardware should be in the 30ms area. I assume the Super NT is also in this area but I haven't seen any high speed cam tests yet.

The 161-in-1 is only about $50 but it definitely is hacky and incomplete

lol thanks for the honest assessment. I figured it was especially cheap for a reason.

Tell us all how to mod the NGCD to have faster loading times then. The Internet needs to know.

This is what "modern" pachinko machines with LCD displays look like, with their own lights in their chassis and ball trays. They're also VERY loud.

D2 is the only of Kenji Eno's games that really stands up as a game. D and Enemy Zero have fantastic artistic vision and really use video games as a medium. D2 was kind of a "sell out" where he embraced a lot of successful mechanics that other developers had created but he still managed to make them feel unique and give the whole thing his signature aesthetic, if slightly diluted. His greatest game IMHO.

I played it at release and I suppose you would say I didn't know any better. That super thick book that it came with seemed like the best pack in ever. Similar to when I recently happened upon a copy of Starlight at a thrift store that was amazingly complete

It has one button in addition to the start button and the analog dial. I think it was exclusively a kit that was generally put into candy cabs but if I were building one I'd probably (GASP!) use an LCD so that it could be perfectly upright and tight against a wall like a real pachinko machine.

SMB was shockingly good when it was released, so far ahead of anything else. Just having a scrolling screen was cutting edge at the time, then for there to be momentum and weight it was almost like alien technology and it obviously got it right since so many games derived from it (like hundreds)

I'm sure the artist is selling it and will buy another Dreamcast to paint with the money.

This. If actual crt isn't an option and a quality upscaler isn't an option why are you trying to use real consoles?

Yeah, I mean of course there's plenty of full on bootleg PCBs out there too that are instantly recognizable but it really is like you said, cart collectors are trying to move directly to arcade PCBs are establish some kind of an elite standard for what a "real" PCB is when there pretty much is no such thing.
