I do it to trigger the latter type of anons highlighting the type of behavior that is actually destructive to the board whether it is unignorably being focused onto me or insidiously breathed over all of the former type of anons like an airborne pathogen

There are anons like me who post on topic, have real personal insights to share and want to foster constructive discussion. Then there are rancorous, bilious anons like you who are so deluded they attack any and all the former type of anons just for wanting on-topic discussion because they erroneously believe them to be me who merely calls you out on your absolutely horrible, pathetic, destructive behavior.

Not like it's not all in the archive but why not just delete this whole trainwreck? Not like anyone is going to bother posting on topic in a thread where on topic posts get pruned

It wasn't a ban it was a ten minute block

Here's a fun nugget. Our janitor in his deep wisdom deleted that post that was explicitly about differing philosophy of collecting retro games as "off topic, not retro" and issued a ten minute block.

One minute on Google seems to more or less indicate this is accurate. Regular people do this sort of dumb thing all the time, I know a half dozen girls who have put guys through it but for even a very minor celebrity it should be super easy to find someone better.

Selling on ebay is as simple as safe selling is possible online. The other end of the spectrum is Craigslist or Facebook groups. Straightforward, high risk.

He probably bought a ZX Spectrum in like 1985 or something.

Boba shops are starting to use a whipped cream cheese topping for their drinks. I'm not sure how long it had been around in Asia but my hunch is it's a mistranslation of some kind of yogurt drink.

In that neighborhood yes. You may have to pay $35. You probably won't get $35 for those games in that condition without waiting for weeks or months for them all to sell individually on eBay but they'll probably sell for $5 each (except NHL '95) pretty quickly on Craigslist or your Facebook selling group.

A lot of it was that their standards for "commercial" distribution were lower. There were people copying shareware games onto floppies and slapping labels on them in my mall, but we don't consider that commercial distribution.

Use better paint or as you already suspect, better top coat. That'll get you results like in your pic. If you want the deep, glossy look the easy way I recommend Interlux Brightside one-part boat paint. It's amazing.

That's true but I can assure you in America at least the garbage games far outnumbered the good games at every point. I assume the same was the case in Japan and the worst ones just didn't come out, although after downloading large MSX collections and doing random samplings, a lot of it is just as bad as the bad games everywhere else.

The AVERAGE quality of computer games have always been and will always be abysmal owing to the low development and distribution costs. This is something computer gamers all learn at some point.

When you become intimately familiar with a genre like for example Survival Horror, you know the formula by heart.

Feels ideal to me. We used to call that kind of stuff "comedy relief" back in the day

~$1 a game is very steep but I'd suggest focusing on HOTD2 and Time Crisis plus the other games with novel controls like the DDR machines and anything that you sit in or ride on. It's practically sacrilege there's no Top Skater, Water Ski or any other Sega AM2 machine but those games (and pinball) will give you the most un-reproducable experiences while you still can. Take some pictures of cabinets that you don't play and really get a FEEL for what an arcade is like. It blows my mind there are countries in this world with only 2 arcades in them.

Play it on an emulator first. The games are good but not for everyone. There are also two earlier Megaten games on Famicom.

My X'Eye does fine with Sony CDRs burned at the lowest speed. It uses the same laser as a Saturn so they're cheap and easy to replace.

I recently checked it though and it soft resets every time it tries to spin up the CD. I think it's probably just a problem with the power supply though. I cobbled together one rated at exactly the right voltage but it was some cheap crap and pretty old plus I've had it plugged in through all kinds of brownouts so it's probably just weakened out of spec. I saw an article that someone discovered a $6 new power supply that's correct for it so I'll probably just order one of those the next time I want to play Sega CD, maybe after I make sure that's the issue by giving it a whole 12v to test. I should really do that sometime soon it's obviously giving me anxiety.
