I go to the engineers at my TV station. They love old shit that is easy to understand.

Try lowering your camera's aperture, setting your shutter speed equal to refresh rate and dropping ISO to the lowest acceptable setting. Also shoot in a darkened room to avoid glare.

I made a joke at the expense of the SpongeBob monitor then deleted it because I didn't think it was very good. Something about throwing it into the ocean where it belongs. I'm sorry.

I try to suppress my powerlevel when making the deals, but it slips through whenever they ask how I have this shit. And then I give them my business card and tell them to call if the monitor ever has any issues. I figure free local support until I move away is the least I could do.

It does feel good to see someone's eyes light up at the sight of a nice monitor, for sure. I just want them to have a good time.

Don't be grumpy. I resell monitors locally in NE Florida. 5 inchers go for between 20 and 30, 8 inchers for 40 to 50 and 14 inchers from 100 to 130. I don't often sell anything bigger, but have sold a single 20L5 for around 200 about two years ago. The kid I sold at 14M2 to in St. Augustine last month for $120 was so fucking elated, he nearly cried in his beat-up car as he drove off. It all depends on where you live and how much you value these sets.

I remember buying my first 20L5 for $60 + 60 shipping in 2012. I felt like had ascended to another level of existence. Having disposable income is amazing.

I didn't have a screwdriver at the time when moving mine. The top handles are amazing though. I had to progressively move it from case to case until I had it within above waist lifting range.

You won't find any entertainment center furniture made within the last few years capable of holding up a monitor of that size. You'll either have to buy it used from a flea market or Craigslist/eBay. You could also make something custom for yourself. Go explore your local hardware store. I've considered making something out of steel pipe and butcher block workbench top.

>can't lift his new PCM waifu
Dude, I go to the gym simply only because I want to lift my 20+ inch monitors solo. Lots of squats and curls.

Totally. Sometimes the RF shields inside SNES consoles I open up look like shit. It can happen to any cheap exposed metal used inside old ass electronics. The extent of the oxidization probably depends on humidity.

Disgraceful.

PVMs and BVMs were never intended to play games, but are simply extremely versatile and high-quality sets that have stood the test of time. Like someone else mentioned, they used to cost about the price of a small car (or more, depending on size and features). Now they're relatively affordable.

Almost every BNC input port on most PVM and BVM models have identical matching BNC outputs.

Dustin is the guy who owns VGR. He was put together with the cohost via some weird connection, can't remember if it was the RetroGaming reddit or something. And yeah, when the cohost died (Kevin?), Dustin lost all interest in podcasting for a while. I've been on some of his streams before the store opened and I paid into the IndieGoGo campaign. The arcade was a later add-on, originally VGR was in a flea market and only open a few days a week.

It's the best store Jacksonville has and it hosts and sponsors a lot of local events like Thursday night smash and GAAM. The store's third year anniversary is this month.

I'm in Jacksonville. Just got back from PAX. I had a few things up in the air but at the moment all I have are 8 inchers.

Oi /vr/, I'm probably going to get a bunch more 5 inch, a few 8 inch and a couple 14 inch PVMs in the mail later this month or early next. My storage unit is reaching capacity. Should I set up a web page or just list all my inventory for sale here? Anyone got a good domain name idea? In b4 tubes4cucks.net.

There's actually a lot of D24 monitors out there. The D32s though, they are rare as heck.

>> No.3758817 [View]

I bought a D24 in December for around $800 total from an auction. It didn't have a power supply though, so I had to drop another $75 for that.

This isn't one of the two I sold, but I'll say this: the cover glass for the 5041q is just there to protect it when in transport. You could open the little guy up and unscrew the who front fascia/bezel if you want. The monitor looks kinda cool if you do, though the buttons are at risk.

I don't remember if it's real glass or plexiglass, but either way that screen protector is there to be scratched. Clean it with whatever you have that doesn't melt plastic. It should be fine.

Depends on how much it was used and how bad the market is for decent monitors in your area. Also how poor you are. I would pay $50 for it personally, maybe more if the seller was stubborn.

>Is the HD RetroVision good for converting RGB to Component?
It's pretty good for how convenient they are.
>Or are there other better RGB to Component converters for the Super Famicom?
There are better solutions, such as upscalers.
>Also, how do I know if a signal is 240p, 480i or 480p without a notification saying which resolution it is?
240p and 480i are synonymous. 480i is referred to as Standard Definition (SD) and was a broadcast standard. 240p is half as many lines as 480i but refreshed/redrawn twice as fast (progressive). 480p is often referred to as Enhanced Definition (ED). 720p and 1080i are High Definition (HD).

If you're interested in this stuff, read up on the history of broadcast television technology. It's pretty neat how dudes over half a century ago were transmitting video data both over wires and wirelessly. Not a lot changed until analog transmitters were phased out around 2009.

I would use a shielded non-twisted pair ribbon. With such a short run, I think things will be fine. I'll let ya'll know whenever I get it done.

I would go with the amp is failing. Normally they weren't total dogshit. Good news is audio amps are a lot easier to fix than most crap.
