Forgot my trip, anyways, important question. Should I include some of the more well known first person RPG games as well? There aren't TOO many, but there are a shitload, a lot of which are hosted on GoG. Keep in mind, these games are LARGE apparently! 1990's games end up in gigabytes! I really do love first person rpg games, and it would probably be best to include them(because I have already caved in and included a few such as Ultima Underground and The Elder Scrolls)!

Or should I make a separate torrent for that kind of thing..?

I am no longer including Duck Hunt in the torrent(I was foolish in thinking it was a pioneer of the genre!), and have just stripped wikipedia of early fps games for me to work on when I get the chance. Good night.

Collecting a large quantity of 2.5 dimensional retro FPS games for a master torrent of sorts for every ones advantage. So far, I have over 100 games, and am nearing completion, but have 11 more games left to finish. I have already downloaded EVERY game on this list (EXCLUDING PATHWAYS INTO DARKNESS FUCKING MACINTOSH), but have yet to test them to see if they work, and have yet to write setup help text files. I am always accepting more videogame titles you feel should be added to the list if I missed them! Note, I am not looking for light gun or 'on rails' shooters. I want ones with some freedom to where you move! I also am not looking for full realtime 3 dimensional shooters like Quake or Unreal.

It takes awhile to compile the files because I have to test them to ensure they work! I have not implemented the Amiga games into the 'wave' organizational scheme yet because I have not played them, thus do not know which they would belong. They are at the bottom of the list currently.

NEED SOMEONE TO DOWNLOAD THE !FREE! MACINTOSH GAME "PATHWAYS INTO DARKNESS" AND UPLOAD IT! If possible, it would make this much easier, as I have no access to the Mac App Store, and there seems to be no external downloads for the game. While I have no way to test the game, nor am including a Macintosh emulator, I still want to include it for completion. It is a real kick in the shimmies for them to scream FREE when it is out of my reach!

Are there any Macintosh users in this thread? If so, could you download Pathways Into Darkness(ITS FREE) from the Mac App store and then upload the files via dropbox or mediafire?

I ask, because there is no Windows equivalent, so I cannot download it on my end, and I need this game for the torrent since the Windows remake is horrible(its unofficial, walk through walls, no enemies, no gun, etc). Many thanks to anyone who obliges.

also, if anyone feels like buying the full version of Prime Target from the app store and uploading that it will mean one less demo in the torrent (there are 2 so far)

All right, downloaded a good haul of shooters, the whole of second wave(but don't know if they work yet), downloaded 9 Amiga titles (need to get their sequels)(Amiga emulation is difficult because of a plethora of different system roms without documentation, will extend torrent release by a little), and will begin working on those tomorrow. There are so many renditions of Battlezone, I didn't even know. Adding the arcade version of the game the only way I know how, via an Atari game collection SNES ROM(thats right, you guys are getting a few non FPS games, sorry).

Sailing smoothly, probably wont get the torrent done in 2 weeks, however. Might, but probably not. To be safe, and to mask over my ETA stated previously, it may be done in a month. I don't like being pressured, even if it is only by myself! Cannot wait to finish this, I want to actually play the damned games I slaved over!

Just to ensure I read that correctly, you said you would upload Windows 98 and VirtualBox with written, thorough instructions to get it up and running in the form of a GAMESETUP.txt file, correct? I read what I want to hear, and believe me, I really want to hear that.

Right now, I am working on Wave One of the shooters, getting Amiga games as I lazily type. I only have 8 games for Wave One (1990 and earlier first person shooters/games that revolutionized shooters) and feel like I am severely lacking.

Picture tutorial please. Assassin 2015 isn't a disc image and cannot be mounted via Daemon. I might try creating a cd image out of the folder however, may make things a little easier.

The problem is that I need it because Assassin 2015 doesn't run on DOSBox, or systems beyond Windows 98, so it is necessary to obtain a virtual machine if possible. I need internet so I can transfer the games files over to the virtual machine or be able to redownload the files from the internet so I can use them in the virtual machine. I may retry again with Windows 98, but certainly not anytime soon.

Okay, I give up on this bullshit! Got it booting without an error (apparently it was a different error this time than before) without any errors upon boot, but then find out that to share files from host to machine, your machine is required to install shit from the Devices dropdown menu, which is unsupported for anything earlier than windows 2K or something similar. Also am not sure if this is because the files on the floppies weren't found (there were more than one, likely the whole of floppy 12), but cannot get internet working! Not to even fucking mention that it DIDN'T EVEN INSTALL AN INTERNET BROWSER!! (NOT EVEN FUCKING INTERNET EXPLORER AM I MISSING SOMETHING?) I am stressing far too much over this, when it is clearly over my head. I have decided not to include the virtual machine nor windows 95, and am not attempting to fix it again, unless it is 100 percent guaranteed to work and run Assassin 2015 AT LEAST(sry yall, I will still include Assassin 2015 however, just with no paved way to run it).

I will continue actually making progress on the torrent tomorrow. Remember, only 21 more titles (not including addons) left unless more are added (probably not, I will perhaps create separate torrents in the form of 'updates' for other games I encounter over time(after so many titles)) so yeah, something to look forward to assuming anyone is still following this. Shouldn't take too long, MAY even finish in a week or 2 with good luck(I have to retest them all, make sure they work and that the help files included are even relevant, make damned sure I got everything, and attempt to ensure that for the most part they are full and updated versions), but don't hold that knife against me if I don't make it in the allotted time. I hate to ask you fellas, but I have been trying to set up VirtualBox with Windows 95 for the torrent, and constantly get the error in

I have retried installing it 4 times, every time there is a similar error. I tried putting the floppy in and clicking "OK" but it doesn't recognize it. I have even tried redownloading the floppy disk "12" from another torrent, but nothing works. I pressed cancel another time, but errors constantly show up during reboot. Sure it boots up, but I am unsure if it would be necessary to play the games included (the whole fucking point), and would rather just have it fixed if possible. What I really want to know, is if it is a hardware issue meaning could others use the files when I couldn't? I couldn't find information about it on google, so it is probably system dependent, so I may still include it. Thought I should run it by you all before I ran down that road however.

I just cannot get how fucked this is, its burned into my brain. This is the most horrible thing to ever be done, and I just cannot fucking explain how. There are Doom sounds and sprites, Duke Nukem sliders, some strobelike walls, some quake sounds, NO MATTER WHAT FUCKING OPTIONS/MISSION YOU SELECT EVERYTHING IS THE FUCKING SAME, your machinegun (DOOMS MACHINEGUN) uses a sped up pistol sound clip and only plays on one side of headphones, fuck if I know what engine the game fucking runs on but it doesn't feel DOOM, WORLD WAR II REFERENCES, ARE THOSE FUCKING QUAKE TEXTURES< IT JUST FEELS SO FUCKED UP I CANNOT FUCKING COMPREHEND WHYWOULD YOU DO THIS

Should I include this in the torrent? Everything in me says no, but something makes me feel like others should witness this vile creature.
