I can see that, you did get OP pretty quick - especially doing all the little side bits. But the sound, attitude, and atmosphere were awesome - it was like a MegaDrive game on modern hardware, and I loved it for that.

Looks more like a game port to me, which was standard on PC game/sound cards in the 90s.

Get an old soundblaster off eBay for your PC, and I'd bet that it would fit the socket, and be fully functional with any OS Win98 onwards.

In my opinion, Earthsiege 1 & 2 are the only games that come close to Mechwarrior games. And they're still not as good.

But I am an old school FASA fanboy, who played tabletop Battletech a lot in my youth. So my opinion is skewered.

I have a version of this on floppy, called EGA trek. Awesome. My personal favourite star trek game though is TNG on the gameboy. That game makes me feel like a starfleet captain more than any other I've played
