Can someone give me a hand here? I found two out of three vents, one of them was the one found in that awful underwater maze, and the other one I sealed in that big area where you run back and forth to collect keys from huts with those bastard crossbow guys, I've got the heart of fire talisman. I just need to find the last vent

Everything from the .wad file i was working in just disappeared. Its completly empty now.

Any clues why this happened? Last thing i did was was use the map editor in slade (wich has also been reset for some reason)

It took me a long time, but I finally realized how shitty All Out War is. When everyone on your team including you is getting your ass kicked by the enemy team and can't even refine tiberium, it simply becomes not fun to play in the slightest since you're stuck with the shitty classes that cost little to no money and deal little damage, so your best bet is to hope that either both teams have their shit together or that you're on the team that does.

What awful fucking balance, why do I keep torturing myself with this shit.

I'm currently writing down shit I'd like to see if I can fix or improve for the sake of a quality of life thing in GMOTA, one thing that's been bothering me is subweapon drought when people play co-op (If anyone still does anymore)

One idea I had to address that was make the SSG, Rocket Launcher, and Plasma gun spawn a unique chest you whack open for a subweapon, then after a second or two, the chest closes and lets players whack it open again, the catch would be those subweapons can't be stacked for POW.

I still intend on balancing the Blazter's uncharged primary fire to be a "combo" thing where if the player hammers the fire button, they shoot three wimpy shots and then finish it with a mid shot, then a half second pause before they can resume shooting, probably remove the mid charge shot from charging entirely too.

Finally I'm not sure what the fuck I want to do with crash charges, the other characters aren't gonna have item crashes, and the crash charge pickup is something that breaks in multiplayer. So if I ditched crash charge pickups.

I'd have to figure out a way for the player to earn the ability to do item crashes, I was thinking a system like I did with the Daibatana in C_A: Hurt dudes, build charge, get a stock for a big attack.

Of course I'd still have to think of what the fuck I'm gonna do with the crash expanders then.

Chaos revenants are gonna get a small nerf so they don't spin so fucking long too.

In singleplayer you can create weapons tailored towards different situations

>Need general use hitscan with average range/power? Use shotgun
>Weak mass of mobs? Use chaingun
>Getting close is worth the risk? Use super shotgun
>Chaingun not strong enough? Use plasma gun
>Need a power weapon at range? Use rocket launcher
>Need something bigger? BFG those fuckers

It's like having an empty swiss army knife and then gradually filling it up. There's a sense of fulfillment as the player grows more powerful, and the system also allows the devs to create many more types of enemies that your selection of weapons call for. I think Doom 2's monster variety is some of the best in FPS, every single one serves some kind of distinct role and none of them are really wasted.

In multiplayer?

>There are fewer sorts of weapons to use that may become much more distinctive in purpose and it becomes harder for one to outclass the other at its 'niche'
>Some potential weapon imbalances can be rebalanced by proper weapon/ammo distribution on the map
>Makes map knowledge and control more important
>Death is actually a punishment
>Where the other players are located on the map becomes a lot more important because every pick up is free game

I definitely prefer it over the loadout system where it feels more like a moshpit. Even if there were only two slots, at least Halo had some fairly distinctive weapons in purpose, I guess. Too many of them still felt a bit shitty to use though.

Holy shit. This shit has some pretty design but holy fuck this level is a drag. Scarce ammo and have to return every time to the start just to get a new weapon is distasteful, imo. Also, almost no health/armor except in the start, again.

This guy knows how to make a pretty map (or has the basis for it) but couldn't make it fun.
