>New version is out BTW. FMVs work fine with video and sound, autoaim on slopes fixed, HOM effects in cryptic passage and most other parts fixed (you need to load cryptic res in launcher)

damn it is near perfect, thanks for the info!

just like you I too want to send a donation his way. Never done something like that for a Mod/source engine before but I think this guy has done a bang up job with it.

>The problem is BloodGDX. If you play it through dosbox, you will find a much more forgiving game.
Huh, I've actually beaten the game on dosbox and am replaying it on BloodGDX. I thought that it wasn't as hard last time I played it.

>See they can fire, stand/go prone or turn one frame in their animation per AI tick but no combination of the three.
Does BloodGDX alter this? Does running the game at a higher FPS increase the amount/speed of AI ticks? That would explain why they're reacting so fast if that's the case. Just cranking down my FPS would probably fix it.

>Aside from that it's reflexes, angles, covers, and being really quick/accurate with your dynamite throws. To be really good at Blood you need to be able to switch to dynamite and throw it accurately almost like you have a modern quick-grenade key.
I'm getting better with 'em. I didn't remember until Dark Carnival how to toss dynamite without having it explode on contact. Tapping altfire to light then holding fire to charge the throw is an odd way to do it, but the dynamite feels so good that I can excuse quirks like that. I love the sound when a horde of enemies get caught in a single explosion.

I want to make a Blood map.

Any ideas? What would you like to see?

I have 2 layout ideas floating in my head already but ideas are always welcome. Ideally it should be cool but not too complicated as I don't want another development hell like my Shadow Warrior map had.

Yes, even if they can't prove it and suit him, it would be awful for his reputation. Pretty sure he still works in the "industry".

Yes, 4th difficulty out of 5, Well Done.

I must have died 10 times in E3M8 so far. Doesn't help that I often fuck up of my own doing. The trick is to try to kill as many of the Hellhounds at the start as possible with grenades, trying to pack them.... there is like 5 of them.

I'm learning new tricks in this playthrough, like for instance how easy and safe it is to kill Gargoyles with a pitchfork if you pin them down with just one flare. That can save some precious ammo

Well, Death Wish comes with a readme file explaining in detail how to install it, whether you're using DOSbox or not.

Just make sure your Blood is running fine before installing it.

With a good processor you can play Blood in DOSbox at 800*600 and 60fps. Try fucking around with the different video output of dosbox to see which one fits your computer better. If your computer is crap you're stuck at a low resolution though.

Some people use a specific version of DOSbox and that would let them use a higher resolution with no framerate issues, but for me (and some other people) using that version made no difference, but you could always try it.

Use bMouse if you think the mouselook sucks.
Make sure to use midi music rather than CD music, everyone will tell you it's better. To do that, make sure it says
>imgmount D game.gog -t iso
in both the files dosboxBlood_single.conf and dosboxBlood_addon.conf

DOS isn't just the best way to play Blood, it's the only possible way.

Have fun and stop trying to play it like you'd play Doom, it doesn't.
