If you wanna have fun spending money, you should be going out to a theater or a concert. The only people who find value in owning the physical thing are worrying more about the materialistic aspect of the hobby and most likely don't even play video games. It's the same thing with vinyl or CD collectors. Unless you're buying it to make a digital backup, you're wasting money. Vinyls are more justifiable to have on-hand only because you won't find hi-res rips or digital re-releases of the more obscure songs. But for video games, damn nearly every game has a digital counterpart in the form of a rom or port on a modern platform.
