/vr/, what are some good girlfriend-ready co-op games for PS1 and older?

To give you a frame of reference for what I'm looking for, Kirby is "too boring" and Gunstar Heroes is "too hard". Those are my go-to co-op games anyway and it'd be nice to play something that's new to me as well.

i'm digging it

i finished my sprites for firing my gun but a lot of the "lighting up" detail doesn't show up? like the weapon flash works but the meters and fins don't light up as the frames cycle

...but how do you actually edit the sprites?

i can rotate things and change their aspect ratio, tint, etc. but how do i actually /edit/ them? Also how do i change the dimensions of a single patch without altering the dimensions of all patches?

also the axe shoots projectiles and is a projectile

i mean that's not a bad thing, but you could probably beat the entirety of doom and doom 2 with just the gauntlets and the axe

>honestly think a lot of the SNES RPGs are overrated

I actually like it.
I agree with someone that when you get the ultimate stuff, it becomes a cake walk, but I liked how weird this game was with the time travel and the large amount of endings.

Well then , might as well post it here too.

so I'm trying so hard to remember this game I used to play when I was younger. It was this first-person shooter, most probably pre-2000 as it had quake 2 tier graphics, I played it on a PC , or at least a demo of it and it started like this: you're some sort of marine or soldier that lands on this jungle/pyramid/aztec/canyon kind of planet (or crash-lands) and the beginning is seeing your fellow soldiers (dressed in all black with helmets if i remember correctly) die of random causes , like you see some choppers/ships crash and burn in the sky , at one point you walk in the valley part of a canyon and you see 1-2 soldiers on the top of each side and they get killed by a rock falling or some natural 'accident'. I remember you just ending up alone and it was kind of spooky for me as a kid, i think it had turrets and lava and I never really got too far in it.

Does anyone know what game this is?

I know asking 4chan for help is usually about as logical as sticking your dick into a hornet's nest in search of honey, but /vr/ is a little more civilized than most other boards and certainly less elitist than the other places I would ask for help, so h- here I go...

I've never dabbled in arcade emulation, ever, and I'd love to give it a try, but I can't wrap my head around setting up MAME. I'm trying to get it working on my Raspberry Pi 2 running the latest version of RetroPIE. I understand now, after cherry picking the games I wanted off of ROM sites and wondering why they wouldn't work, that certain ROMs need certain versions of MAME to run. So I downloaded what I've been led to believe is a fullset of ROMs for this particular version of MAME, but I really don't want ALL these games for a multitude of reasons. I know some people get off on being able to pull up VERSION 2-B BUILD DATE 04-03-19XX of Ali Baba and 40 Thieves on cue, but I really just want what I want. So because all of these ROMs in my set are using "codenames", I'm not entirely sure what's what. Obviously stuff like "dkong" is Donkey Kong, but what the fuck is "dkongjpo"? Is it a parent ROM or something?

tl;dr: MAME is a mess and I'm a pleb. How do I go about cherry picking the ROMS I want for v0.37b5 without fucking it up?

I remember seeing my cousin play DOOM back when I was about 9. He wouldn't let me play it.
Fast forward to now.
I saw this thread about four months ago and decided to play some DOOM and it felt... amazing. There was no bullshit.
You just jump in the game, you are shooting demons n shit. The objective is quite clear. It's pure gameplay with a nice aesthetic. I felt like a badass.
Friend went into the hospital (heroin overdose), which made me completely forget about DOOM. He eventually came out fine, but it was a very worrisome part of my life.
Just remembered DOOM again a few days ago and haven't stopped playing it since.
Why didn't my cousin let me play this?

I don't know dude, I'm probably doing something wrong but I always end up building for about 30 minutes until I get to a point where I'm flat broke and I can't do shit.

So I looked up some tips online and they show me how to optimize and shit but they always recommend doing that 999,999,999 cheat and I can't fucking do it. And anyway, what's the deal with having to cheat to keep building?

So what am I doing wrong?

Actually speaking of animal crossing 64 and emulation, any one of you guys know if someone finally finished the translation?

I remember a few years back someone started translating the game so you could play the beginning of the N64 rom but then it would switch to Japanese.

Anyone know if there finally is a translated version of this ROM? I can't run dolphin so I'd like to play it on sixtyforce or something.
