NeGcon, pic related. It could twist for analog left/right or up/down movement, and the R shoulder button and red face buttons were analog.

It offers force-feedback resistance, like on a sharp turn it gets harder to steer.

Similar concept here; negcon looks crazy but it's actually very intuitive.
