Only the HDCRT "Hi-Scan" models.

The FS130, 170, and 210 are all listed as such on wikipedia, but that list is wrong.

>>5278115
HD/Cs is for either the horizontal portion of RGBHV or composite sync for RGBS. Component should trigger as the third input button on the front; If not that, the fourth. The three adapters should be all that are necessary.

I don't believe terminator caps are necessary for it, but don't quote me on that one.

As for cables
https://retro-access.com/ - only stocks what is available, so they go fast. Get listed early in the morning. Is apparently sick atm, so output maybe lower than usual. Only stocks console cables, but has direct to BNC as an option.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/wookieewin - sells breakout cables, often paired with retro-access's cables. If you're going direct from console to monitor, no switches, you'd want a female SCART to BNC cable. Sync stripper is --not-- required for that monitor.
http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/ - sells both console cables and breakouts.

First two are US based, the last is obviously UK based.

How good of a price? That's quite a drive, but at the right price and assuming you haven't had any luck locally if searching for a while, it might be worth looking into.

>>5277586
At this point, condition is everything. A fresh, lightly used but somewhat lower end set can be more desireable than a higher end set that's seen a lot of wear and tear.

As a brand, the Sony is a much safer bet overall, but the quality increase of the Apex's S-Video over Composite would be welcomed, and you might prefer the look of a slotmask over an aperture grille(Trinitron). Does price come into play at all?

For the love of god, don't give that clown any business.

Not even going into the fact they paid $500 for it just to flip.

A line doubler is essentially a very basic upscaler. It's also preferable for 240p content, as it skips most of the processing and traditional scaling that comes with "upscalers". 480i benefits from some of that additional processing, notably for more thorough/higher quality deinterlacing. At this point, the way to go would be to be either the Retrotink2x (paired with an HDMI->VGA DAC) on the cheaper end or the OSSC for the higher end option.

>>5275717
Consoles are only going to output either 50hz or 60hz, depending on region. 100hz implies it's taking said 50hz input and applying frame doubling and/or interpolation to reduce flicker. While that sounds like a good thing, it introduces various visual artifacts, as well as a delay which ruins compatiblity with light guns and the like.

I'd be down to snatch up that 27'', though preferably a FS130 instead.
Something with a digital tuner to just leave running while working would be nice.

Not being able to move them because you're injured is entirely understandable though.

Essentially the monitor on the left in the OP. That price is an absolute steal.

>>5272316
huehuehue?

If so, it's likely just the BR version of the 32FV15, which is an SD set. You're not gonna get meme-tier scamlimes out of it though.

>>5272406
If it's a bad audio connector, where if you wobble the cable it cuts out, that's likely just a cold solder joint, and would be easily fixable with minimal experience.

It's just BNC, intended for RGBHV input, so standard VGA broken out to 5BNC.

Based on what I can find, it looks to be a rebadged/recased version of Sony's GDM-17E01 monitor. Don't believe the long list that comes up on google that claims it's a fixed frequency set, the service manual flat out states that it isn't.

.30mm stripe pitch, 30-82khz horizontal sync, 50-150 vertical.

If that's based on the manual button pressing test, that really just comes down to your ability to predict when the bar is going to be over the center position. Your reaction and ability to adjust+predict rather than the TV's.

Dreamcast Microphone test is apparently more reliable, but is also dependent on both the audio and video chain to be perfectly synced up.

Page 23 of that manual details it; On the B-Board. Looks like it likely uses Red as a reference, and then you adjust Green and Blue from there.

If leaving it on to warm up, that hints to aging caps being partially responsible. In turn, if applying force to different connectors/knobs affects things, that's a sign of either those knobs being gunked up or their simply being a bad connection somewhere with in that circuit; The latter of which is actually very common on the 5'' and 8'' sets.

>>5250928
If you're looking to use it for movies and the like, or 1080i and -maybe- 480p stuff, it'll be nice. It doesn't treat 240p the greatest, and has a few frames of delay depending on what signal you're feeding; 3 for 240p/480i, 2 for 480p, (presumably) 720p, and 1080i by default, and 0-1 with some tweaks but only for 1080i/540p.

Aside from making sure the monitor you end up with is capable of scanning that the horizontal frequency(and vertical for refresh) as well as that it has a fine enough mask/grille pitch to resolve the resolution you want, it'll display any resolution you toss at it straight up. No scaling involved; 480p will be displayed just as cleanly at 960p.

>>5244017
That's gonna depend an awful lot on people's cameras being appropriately setup to not tinge the photo.

>>5243764
The audio going to the TV, and that you're pushing off to your headphones is line level and very low power; It's not able to properly drive your headphones which is why it's so quiet and likely doesn't sound that great. You'd need a standalone headphone amp or a TV which straight up has one built in to get proper results.

For the FD/Wega Sonys, any set with FM, FS, or FV in the name are going to be standard definition, and have no lag.
Any with HS, HV, or XS in the name are going to be HD.
XBR is a bit of a mix. XBR200 and XBR250 are SD sets; The rest of the silvery design flat XBRs are HD.

With the exception of the 34XBR2, if it's flat and silver cased, a number above 350 is going to be HD, a number below 350 is going to be SD.

What sort of set do you have, and where are the speakers located at on the set.

A random guess without any additional knowledge would be that the speakers are the set are likely not shielded and could be causing purity issues. The reason it may come and go is the magnets in them generating a slightly larger/stronger magnetic field depending on the audio that is being played. Said increased magnetism would be enough to throw off the landing of the beam close by.

That's going to depend a lot more on how you'd prefer to use/play said console. HDMI has it's benefits in being able to go straight through to a display and some of the other built in enhancements, but you lose the ability to use it on any of your SD equipment. NESRGB may not have said enhancements, but doesn't really mess around with any timings and given you already have access to high quality scalers would still allow you to get a decent experience with both SD and HD displays.

For which console, that's gonna really be which ever you prefer. Aside from slightly differing installation requirements, the results you get should be entirely the same.

I personally don't really mess with upscaling and the like, so I'd likely go for the RGB mod. As for which console design, I've only ever had a front loader, but a top loader would likely look a tad nicer.

2RCA to 4pin Mini-Din adapters aren't terribly difficult to get a hold of, and lets you use literally anything with a standard S-Video connector.

H-Board

Manual shows it uses "1-570-101-41" for some and "1-570-969-11" for others.
41 is used for most of the buttons, 11 is used specifically for Up, Down, Menu, and Select.

No idea if either of these actually have said parts, but the only real hits I'm finding.

I'd try to take apart my 14M2MDU to get an idea of what they look like, but not only is that not terribly easy to do, but the manuals also report them as being entirely different parts.
