MM&B is great. The only thing I dislike about it is that a few enemy placements are unfair, as in, it's almost impossible not to get hit unless you know about it.

Also that delicious Ariga art!

Do I enjoy it more than 7? I don't know, I like both as much for different reasons. 8 is inferior to the two though.

Man this is really cool, I didn't know either

>>5114281
The only really good thing about them are the bossfights.

Otherwise they're inferior in every way.
For 7 they put the NES scale but didn't change anything else, so everything feels really empty. on NES, the same areas would have had more enemies.
For 8 they cut ENTIRE sections but still ended up making things which wouldn't have worked like that on NES.... At least cut the right things.

They're still cool though.

>In the English versions of Rockman 7 (MegaMan 7), you were greeted by Dr. Right and he describes the functions of the weapon and their usefulness in the game. But in the Japanese version, you also meet Roll and Rightot (Auto) that tells Rock things not normally heard in the game.

Fucking lazy translators.

>you have to hit the 2nd weather enemy with freeze cracker
>it makes the invisible platforms visible

Well fuck, I remember trying everything I got on the 1st weather enemy... so I never thought of hitting the 2nd one, even though that one always seemed odd to me since it seemed useless.

What did I just say about secrets in this game? I had no idea this was possible. Thanks Nintendo e-shop trailer.

Also, you can freeze and get rid of clouds with the Freeze Cracker, but there is not much point to it except maybe being able to see the platform more clearly.

For a game supposedly made in just a few months it does have tons of secrets and small cool details like that.

Danger Wrap weapon. It's the only way to kill those mines. Dr. Light's tip does say "you can encass many things with it!"

It is better than 8, gameplay isn't tight in that one due to long ass animations, and better than 5 and 6 too if you ask me, because of their bland gameplay.

I believe people who don't like it are the kind who play a game once and never replay them.

The low FOV does make things worse than they should be, but once you've played the game 2-3 times and start to know it, it's not a problem anymore and you can start having fun.

I don't mind the cutscenes, they're pretty fast and straight to the point, but one thing I don't like about it is that if you want to collect all secrets, all equipment, with minimal backtracking, your choice of stage order is very limited.

But how would people know it's me that's posting and not some meaningless NPC. Face it, darling, this site needs great personalities like me to create the feel of community. They want to know what I think, because I matter.

They're short but great. The levels in SMW suck in comparison, all flat boring stuff.

Vampire Hunter D

Devil May Cry before its time. It's really fun once you get the hang of it. Fighting is more about waiting for an enemy attack, dodging, and then attack, than just spamming the fuck out of everything.

Great atmosphere too.

You mean Doom The Way ID Did?

You should check Fernando Márquez' maps.

Metropolitan Mayhem was also meant to be like that, but it turned out differently, mostly because all maps were made in less than 24hours.

The problem isn't 'the size of the main sprite', the problem is the low FOV. This doesn't come from the 'main sprite', it comes from everything.

My guess is they wanted to make him more detailed since it's "16 bit".

Either way, it's not a problem all the time, only in some key places, and it stops being a problem once you've played the game a couple times, then it starts to become really fun.

You should play 7,8,9,10 and 11. They're all good too, especially 9.

The spin off games are also good: notably Power Fighters and Power Battles but also Battle & Chase (play the Jap version, I can help with the translation if you want I have some screenshots, the western release have less content)

The game boy games are also good, especially V, although II kinda suck especially due to the musics.

tl;dr it's more than 6 games that were constantly good, it's all of them.

>> No.5103691 [View]

Overrated. Even Duck Tales 2 has better musics, at least the fit their stages, in DT1 you could swap any music from any stage to another and get away with it.

Yeah... but no. You just need to get used to the dynamites.

You can do a LOT more with them than you can with the pipebombs, in a much quicker way, and they are more powerful.
Not to mention that Blood's TNT has 2 firing mode, without even mentionng the 2 other types of TNT you get from ep2 onwards.

I know that, just saying that in Megaton existing glitches were much more likely to happen, and that it also introduced new ones.

For instance speedrunners use techniques which should have a 1 out of 10 change to work and which work almost every time.

Who do you mean by "they"?

Either way they probably don't want to do that because it would make pirating easier.

Also, if I understood correctly, the code for the Firefly and the flamethrower is a clusterfuck that includes hardcoded changes.

However if you want to make a map for World Tour, nothing's stopping you. It'll just only be playable with WT...

>>5095651
Megaton was good for what it was and what it did, especially making the add-ons playable easier, without having to go through DOS installers... but it wasn't a great port. No true widescreen, no original classic renderer and their opengl one is outdated and didn't look good, new glitches and old glitches were easier to pull off, which is why all speedrunners used that version and when all the clueless people starting spouting how glitchy DN3D was when it was Megaton.

I want a colorized version of this game so much.

I'm excited about Ariga's manga re-release in colour also because we'll get to see the Stardroids with colours.
