That would work. I was thinking of a single row, showing only the box covers with no burbs or anything. Short and sweet.

I still think it's worth it to briefly mention them, if only so someone doesn't go "wtf Mario 3 isn't recommended? Shit list".

Maybe we should do what was suggested here, then: >>712219

So I guess we should make a list of all the "obvious" games first.

Maybe we should just start with the basics. If the goal was to list every essential game for these consoles, with no fluff whatsoever, how many games would you need to list?

NES
SNES
Genesis

Those charts always just end up as gigantic images that suck to read through. Plus, we would need a ton of them for this project.

I propose a sticky.

I see a lot of traffic on /vr/ from outsiders who only want to get some suggestions for cool games on a particular console. While I certainly welcome these posters, I don't feel as though the threads they create serve them, nor the board itself, very well. These threads mostly result in a long list of games posted without context or explanation. The poster is left with no real insight into what to play, and the board is filled with the same threads over and over again. To fix this problem, I believe we should create a recommendations sticky.

Personally, I think we should create our own wiki, similar to what other boards have done. Now, I know /v/ already has a recommendation wiki, but I don't think it serves us very well. The lists tend to be incredibly long, including just about any game that isn't outright terrible. Not only that, but the blurbs are often uninformative or chock full of epic /v/ memes. To ensure that our wiki doesn't suffer the same fate, I think that each console should have a hard limit on how many games can be listed. This way, only the real essentials get listed. To be clear, I'm not suggesting that each console be limited to the same number of games, as the Playstation surely has more great games than the Game.com does.

That's where this thread comes in. I want to use this thread to discuss how many games should be allowed for each console, and I want to hear your thoughts on the format of the sticky in general.
