I can't even direct you to Totse Redux for the guide, but I've been told mine is copy-pastable.

No, some variation of it was just on every Sega game.

To be fair Square knew the N64 would suck for their style of games.

Jesus Christ I remember when FFIX was new to me.

Their merger with Enix was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Wait, people really think that SM2 was the first to do that?

>>2457384
I'm legit curious: like what?

Good news then! Dreamacst is essentially region free. Yeah, there's a region lock, but with shit like Utopia Boot Disc it's a moot point.

>>2457434
Some PS2 games were on CD I'm pretty sure.

>>2457770
James Rolfe supposedly has areal Action 52 cart.

You should maybe in2reading before responding to people. If you read that post you were responding to it says "the only reasons to own physical copies is (when) emulations is shitty/you can't find an accurate rom", meaning, the only reason to own a physical copy is if it can't be accurately emulated, dumb ass.

>>2456746
Why would you chip a PS2 or Dreamcast?

>>2456818
You'd think so but one of my close friends growing up was a straight up video game family. Had generations of shit.

>>2456898
That's what's stopping me from getting anything for the SNES. My understanding is the hardware is out there but it's far more rare than the actual carts, and you still need a cart with the chip in order to play.

>>2456926
Would be interesting

Literally nobody in this thread up until your post made mention of being 100% exclusive to buying games. Most of the people posting prior to you even encourage emulating if you can't afford it.

>"Is it going to cost me more than $30 initial investment?"

If yes, I emulate, if no I usually still end up emulating cuz fuck tracking down games and paying out the ass because some nerd kept their shit in an air tight climate controlled room for 30 years.

>Frog suit to swim under the boat
I always just got under it and mashed A

>THAT MAP
Holy shit, to this day I have never beaten this game without using the cloud. Looking at that map makes me feel stupid.

I remember a couple days ago when everyone was still saying this would never work.

If I thought I could contribute in anyway I would. You should make use of the SNES graphics chip and make the background vibrant and moving (like the portals in Chrono Trigger, or the battle field for Celulux in Super Mario RPG) and leave the forground a little childish (like Yoshi's Island)

They are talking about running emulators ON the PS2 you knob.

If by "down pat" you meen "glitch out, crash, don't emulate at full speed, and are poorly designed" then yes, you are right.

..... You're kidding, right? How do you hit R1 and R2 at the same time?

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

Get PSXLauncher.elf then because from looking at that it actually stops the drive so you aren't damaging the discs or whatever. Maybe that's what I was thinking of. I know I got most of my elfs from sksapps

>> No.2451736 [View]

I'd like to see someone write an actual rom and write it to a cart that is just a bad ass use of the NES's sound chip.

I think my nephew has a PS2 that I should be able to boot my memory card from.

The more I look into it the more I'm thinking I might have been remembering it wrong, but if I find it I will let you know.

Nah, like I said, the way I always had it working was start the program, put in a retail PS1 game, hit either X or O to open the tray, insert the backup, and hit start.

Sure, you're still swapping, but it's way easier than using the key.

WoW did NOT have a bigger impact than everything else before or after.

>>2451596
So Golden Sun, Neverwinter Nights, Everquest, et cetera et cetera et cetera did......?

>>2451673
It was more of a shell. Any dos program you ran would more than likely exit windows first.

>> No.2451432 [View]

>>2451420
I'm pretty sure it's just a stock option when you have the memory card mod. My PS2's power buttons broke like two years ago so I'm foggy, but all it really did was allow you to open the tray to do the swap rather than using the key to open it.

That's pretty bad ass. It used to piss me off when my mom would tell them to just bring their tower and use my desk and her desk since they were already set up for the ethernet.

Was nice when she got her house and I opted for the basement and was given the uplink port and my own router. I can put together a pretty nice home network because of that I tell you hwut

You should check them out FOR SURE, and they tell a decent enough story.

I always just used an app that allowed me to boot PS1 games without traditional swapping or a mod chip. I was always concerned about the laser though.

Oh, I know PSO isn't Hall of Fame material, and yeah, my aunt and uncle used to play Everquest and Neverwinter Nights quite regularly. My mom had DSL so they came over often with their CRT monitors and towers.
