I always give it back. I think he gives you a Flower Tab, and I always am massing FP as hard as I can. Plus I always have more coins than I know what to do with anyway.

>tfw you save your Flower Tabs until you've run out of FP then replenish them all +1

I won't lie, toward the end the story does seem to hurry up and feel like it could have been paced more elaborately, but I've played shorter point 'n' clicks.

The best way I can put it is that you'll like it if you think what you see in the screenshots looks good. It's exactly what it appears to be: kind of a rip-off of Beneath a Steal Sky/Blade Runner/et cetera, but still very well made, especially for $4.

I think the game is balanced roughly so that you get an even challenge if you fight every enemy you see exactly once. That usually gets you steady level progression up to about 28 or 29 at the end.

Ever think about the fact that you traded dynamite to a child for a pebble?

The stupid "B'tub Ring" you can buy for dirt cheap in Marrymore doubles Peach's magic defense. That's insane at that point in the game. I think it also did something else if you used an item a bunch of times while wearing it.

>Two chests in a room
>Hit closest one, all HP/FP restored
>Hit second one, increases FP by 1

>All the special equipment has very specific buffs and uses
>Spend childhood thinking they're worthless because the descriptions are all crap like "Grants 'Troopa' confidence!" and "Great item, bad smell!"

Fuck you.

In the "other games" however, those things aren't really the focus or the main aesthetics that are meant to stand out.

This is probably going to sound weird, but I've been searching for another good old linear JRPG for a while now.

Across the board, how much of the story and events are dictated by the player's decisions in all the games?

Probably cut and paste his text so he could reload the page, but then the thread he wanted was on top so he thought he was in the thread and just put his text in the "create topic" box. I've done similar things. If you're posting an image, it's possible to screw up this way.

Is there anything else important that's missable besides party members? Sidequests, story elements, etc.

I often do have the problem of not comprehending NPCs correctly anyway. Thanks for the advice.

The difficulty is pitiful later on, too. In one of the big showdowns with a boss that has like 4 separate active units, I think I managed to chain cancel all of them for the entire fight.

As far as I can tell, enemies get a turn for roughly the time it takes you to expel two characters' stamina bars almost all the way. I think it's based on the total stamina used, but elements can be used without advancing the enemy's turn.

>Is there any point to skipping characters' turns? Should I try and keep everybody's stamina roughly equal?
Uh, not if their stamina is full and they have no element level, but if you think you might need to heal in a minute because a boss is about to get a turn, you might let a character sit at max stamina. Generally, I try to keep everyone's element level high, and only use elements when my stamina is close to being full, because when you go into the negative, it takes longer for it to fill back up than if you just drained it to zero. That way, you get the most out of your turns.

As a rule of thumb, I try to only use attacks that have at least an 80% chance of working, but it's not like three out of four is a bad percentage. But it pays to connect with Threes, because they hurt substantially more. I like 2-2-3 as my bread-and-butter, and you can improve percentages with equipment.

I don't really blame you. The game is slow enough without extra buggy loading. The first two Grandias both could have benefited from a progressive map system and the option to scroll text faster, which is a mistake many JRPGs of the time made. Besides that, the middle third of the game is the least notable. I stopped the first time I played around the same time you did.

It's funny how Feena gets like 1 or 2 spells that no one ever sees because you need literally 99 of some of the elements. I just loaded my game to see how much I had at the end of the game and she only has 34 fire and 30 wind Gadwin's secret move! Dragon King Slice!

You should read this spoiler, but not anyone else who hasn't finished it: It's not as big of a deal as you're probably thinking. She gets sick at one point, but recovers, then they leave her behind because they care about her. They remain friends and she appears throughout some of the rest of the game. You get other cool party members, their names just aren't Rapp.

I'm starting this for the second time in a little while. I previously only got to the end of the first combat area and am just going to restart as I remember nothing.

Is there anything I should know, or guides I should keep tabs on for anything? I'm kind of someone who likes to explore as much content as possible, though I'm not looking to spoil the game. I'm mainly playing for the storyline, though the party system seems cool.

I'm aware that people seem to rave about the second game moreso, but I read that the games are all connected, so I wanted to get this story down first if anything.

TLJ and Dreamfall work fine on Windows 7. At least, they work on my PC.

Resonance and Gemini Rue are both worth it, by the way. A little short each, but the stories are cool.

You mean Rapp? It fucking blows that you lose Sue, Gadwin AND Milda, not just because Rapp sucks but because those characters are all interesting anyway.
