Lemme poke your brain a bit /vr/! Change one major feature of Doom, be it an an enemy, weapon, or whatever else, and tell me how you think modern FPSs would change as a result. What kind of FPSs would we be playing now? What sort've features would we see on average?

So as my example, let's say I added reloading to Doom. Since many FPS games followed Doom and often tried to mimic it, FPSs throughout the years would have reloading as a standard features, but somewhere along the lines, devs experimented with taking it out and leaving weapons with bottomless magazines. Players see this as an unrealistic and "gimmicky" change but it slowly catches on due to it's focus on fast-paced gameplay.

There's something terribly unsettling about that texture. As a kid it was one of the ones that scared me for whatever reason. That being said, I do kind of like it. That map was pretty damn nightmareish somehow.
