I'm not too sure! I haven't put a lot of thought into the various weapons quite yet, just trying to think about the here and now! But is that something you would like to see?

I definitely want to do a Mine Thrower like RE4 though. Like basically a stronger version of the Crossbow's explosive bolts. What other kind of stuff would you guys like to see? I'll jot down the cool ones in the super secret TSP plan document.

New character's starting weapon is going to be a fancy pants revolver! I've showed it off in a couple different places, but it's barely finished so no .webm or whatever quite yet. I love revolvers and shotguns and stuff too anon, I'm right there with ya.

Nah, those are my long terms plans like I said in the post. I have short term goals that I'm working on finishing right now! And as for monsters, I'm working on weapons at the moment. Woo.

As for the shotgun, I wanted it to be better for single targets and more accurate like an actual shotgun. But I'm not really working on it so it's just a concept. It'll be a bit before we really get to that stage.

For the archives, this is in response to me talking about my future plans for TSP. One of the things I mentioned was the ability to swap out weapons (similar to DoomRLA and ww-magop), basically customizing your weapon slots with 6 possible slots. The example I mentioned was swapping out Zeke for a simpler shotgun dubbed the "Classico".

Unlike Zeke's front-end pump pistol grip, the Classico is styled after the Doom shotgun, so it looks different rather than just being a behavioral change. It carries 8 shells, and converts all shell pickups into buckshot shells. It has a tighter spread than Zeke meaning it's more accurate over longer distances, but is slightly weaker as a result.

It won't be in for a long time, but I figure it'll appeal to somebody.

Right now we have one character in, I want to end up with four (five for TSP Neo), each with their own abilities/exclusive weapons. TSP is going to be a hugely cooperative experience, meant to be played on the hardest difficulty with allies.

Monster hierarchy, kind of like Doom RPG (the mobile one), a huge variety of weapons that you can swap out on the go. Like if you really just like classic shotguns, you can swap out Zeke for a shotgun called the "Classico" that fires just buckshot shells, or maybe that triple barrel shotgun. Possibly carry up to six weapons at once, one per each slot, akin to DoomRLA and ww-magop. Not to mention a single player level set and deathmatch/CTF level set. All in due time, hopefully!

Those are long-term goals though, my short-term goals are to finish the next character, plasma rifle replacement, and do player sprites for both Mel and the new character. OH BOY!

Oh yeah, and to finish it of course!

I think it's because we've heard that id has no idea what they want to do with Doom 4. It's been rebooted a bunch like DNF, it's multiplayer is being outsourced (which is...well, whatever), and there's not a single id founder working there anymore, so no one at the company currently had a hand in making classic Doom games at all.

I think we all want a great new Doom game, I think people are just waiting to see something tangible and playable before getting their hopes up.

Without looking at it, my best guess is that it's a KEYCONF issue. Both the smooth weapons and ToP define new weaponslots, so what happens is you're picking up the ToP shotgun, but since you're using Smooth Animations, once you switch back to the pistol, there's no weapon slot defined for the new shotgun you picked up. You'd have to make a compatibility patch of some kind so it'll play well with ToP.
