The photo scene is what stuck in my head all this time about the first game. It's not even canon that he dies though, is it?

>> No.673089 [View]

I'd never even heard of it. It looks derivative of D&D (well, most games are), but not altogether bad. Do these games play "fast" or are fights pretty deliberate?

Soul Blazer is kind of like this, right? Maybe the interaction with the environment is more perfunctory.

I'm sorry I have no input for your thread, but I had to mention that I can taste that girl's makeup just looking at that photo.

>tfw my dad got Barry killed when I watched him play it at launch

I felt really badly about this, like I should have spoken up about leaving Barry out to dry. I forget exactly how it happens, like you can choose not to accompany him at one point near the end, and there's no reason not to.

I always thought this game was cozy as fuck. I wanted to live and work in the tower, eat at the diverse number of restaurants, and have it rain all the time while I chill out in the lobby. That screenshot has all of it. It's perfect.

>> No.667262 [View]

I was part of the rare breed of people that didn't have it spoiled playing it at launch, but I was too young to really be moved by it. I mean, this was a period in time where I didn't use anybody but Barret and Cid, because one was "Cool, a big loud black guy who swears a lot" and the other was "Cool, a big loud guy with a cigarette and goggles who swears a lot".

This is the best one, though I sort of wish you could do both Venoms, because the easy Venom stage is kind of fun.

Boomer cutting the chandelier = him committing sudoku. There's a bunch of others. I just replayed it yet I can't remember them.

Hands are really fucking strange to draw, if you've never seriously tried it before.

Even though Donkey Kong isn't the most fun Kong to control, I was always sad that you never got to control him again. I dreamed as a kid of a huge DKC4 where you got to control all of them plus new Kongs. It also makes me sad that of all the ROM hacks out there, DKC has very few and they mostly suck or are incomplete.

Although some of the designs like the bees were inferior, I liked the overall rustic quality. Was it superior to the other games' visuals? No, but I liked that it tried something different again rather than emulating the jungle world in 1 or the potpourri of 2. Woods/industrial/etc. were welcome additions to the stockpile of DKC worlds.

Also, I may be alone in this, but I liked controlling Kiddy somewhat. If you get good at water skipping, it's really satisfying, even though you barely get to use this mystical power. Losing the best-controlling Kong, Diddy, was disappointing.

But it was launched in 1998/1999, so if they really don't want Dreamcast, the moderators need to make a new sticky to just have one of these qualifiers.

Neither can the janitors considering Dreamcast threads keep getting deleted.

"Reinforcements? Thank God!" Then he immediately slashes some guy next to him and runs. Cracks me up every time. But then every battle after that they just run in recklessly and die.

How is it that everyone disappeared from the foyer in the 2 seconds I spent fucking around in the hallway?

How did Bobby and one of the girls get on the skylight or in the bathtub already? I was standing right there.

You can like a game while still lamenting the overall direction it takes the series. For example, I love playing RE6, I've played it 2.5 times with my friend, but it's not survival horror. I never really felt tense (except in an action sense) or helpless the way I do in the old games. Story is terrible too, though maybe it's not in 4? I never played it.

Don't worry too much though, you have to be retarded to miss most of these. Just make sure to get Added Effect, W-Item, steal from the Turks always, and finish Wutai before disc 3. Restart if you fail a Huge Materia quest. HP Shout and Missing Score (need to take Barret) are easy to miss too.

I never noticed before how terrible Fina looks on the cover. Great game, though.

>>661120
It's bad as an adventure game, but great as an experience. It breaks the only point-and-click taboo by having pitfalls and sometimes it feels like you're wandering around in a bunch of empty screens, but the bottom line is it's funny, the atmosphere is surprisingly memorable, and the music is hauntingly cool.

I'll give the Xeno rights back to Takahashi and his Monolith team so they can make the rest of the original plot rather than the fucking mess that was Xenosaga. Obviously, I want Yasunori Mitsuda doing the music again.

It's not just you. That particular guitar sound and twinkling background effects definitely sound like this:

I feel really badly for parents who have to shell out money for each iteration of CoD and its DLC. I mean, I got my parents pay for some fairly stupid shit in my heyday, but the milking potential is much greater nowadays.
