Glad to meet another fan of OLS! I was sure all those references would fly over most people's heads. To be clear, TSP takes place in a sort've hybrid universe with a bunch of elements from everything. I think it's more of a Doom universe with OLS stuff bolted on, but we'll see as the mod and lore develop more.

I love you so much for catching on to this, more than words could ever describe. Definitely one of my biggest inspirations.

I agree with realism and Doom not combining extremely well. Reloading is a really tricky barrier that requires a monster set/gameplay modifications to make it work. It's very easy to screw up.

But yeah, I kind of cringed when I saw it being used. I played through Winter's Fury with a weapon mod the first time so I never saw it until I did another run with it without one. I would've offered to make a better edit if I knew during development.

Yup, each character will have their own special maneuvers and movement traits to set them apart, aside from their unique starting weapons. His moves aren't set in stone so I don't want to explain them (plus I really don't want to tease the new update more than I have! Two months is a long time on the internet!)

I had a lot of fun with it! It wasn't really bad at all, I think it was always destined to be met with a mixed-to-terrible reception unfortunately.

Also, you can use your character's special (i.e. Mel's Mag Grapple, Push, and Sling) while using the sword as well!

Yes! TSP's sword will function like the current melee combos. Primary fire will do quick, one-handed attacks while alternate will do heavy, dual-handed attacks. Kind of trying to replicate Vergil's Yamato with it's Devil and Angel form mechanics from DmC.

By default, it'll only do a certain amount of damage before the beam blasts off into space (or the ceiling, depending on where you're at). This is toggleable with CVARS, which can also set if you want the beam to be curved or just a straight line. The video was made with an older version of the beam with no cap and just made a straight line between enemies. I want to do a new video with the new beam but I want to get some actual graphics for the weapon itself first.

Actually the sword will be the universal chainsaw replacement, so both Mel and Vex can use the sword!

Hey guys, long time no see! Scroton and I are indeed working on that Space Pirate thing you might've heard of. I announced we were working on it still at the beginning of this month, but I'm not sure if any of you guys caught that. SO NO MORE INDEFINITE HIATUS YAY.

A little bit of an update shortlist for ya guys: New character (Vexler!), with his own melee style, a SWORD (Rules of Nature!), Revolvodeagle, new slot 7 weapon that you've probably seen being tested, a new shotgun variant which will launch the variable weapon system, and hopefully a new HUD as well! Plus fancy new art where applicable. Hopefully this will be out by the end of January at the latest. Woo.
