I'll give N64 the edge when it comes to open world platformers, FPS games, and party games. Otherwise though, PS1 all the way. I even prefer Saturn over the N64 for the most part

CD games had actually been around for years before the PS1 and Saturn, they were just the first consoles that made them really popular (previous ones were add-ons, or less successful consoles like 3DO). Though I guess if you prefer cartridges, the N64 at least turned out better than the Jaguar. 32X had some decent titles too, just not enough games in general. For me it's proof that Nintendo shifted its focus to handhelds right after the SNES.

Because it wasn't designed as one piece. It's literally the first console to get a CD player. It's also why this exists. (pic related)

The Turbo Duo is sex but the prices on eBay make me weep.

If I ever get into PCE / TG16 collecting I could make due with a PC Engine Duo, but those are still pretty expensive. Since I'm into modding and repairs I'd rather get one that needs new caps and save some money by repairing and modding it myself, but it will have to wait until either A) I see one at a steal of a price, or B) I find myself blessed with a great new job that lets me afford to pay eBay prices.

What does /vr/ think of the pce? Was it a second-rate SNES? Or something ahead of its time.
